Augh! Stupid Car!!!

So I guess I get to say JW was right. ;)

I paid off my car last month- and today it went into the shop.

-left outer tie-rod has failed
-steering is failing
-needs an alignment
-passenger rear air shock has blown
-rear wiper motor is out
-and I need an oil change

I am going to do the tie-rod, steering, alignment and oil change. The others are not safety issues and can wait for a while.

So I am going to be out around $700 for this.

Augh augh augh!

*sigh* oh well, I'm still going to Disneyland this weekend- so all is well.

Sorry about your car.

We had plans to go to Scandinavia this summer but unexpected car expenses put the kabosh on that. A doofus ran a red light at 35 mph smack! into our Jeep (hubbo hurt a bit but now fine, daughter not hurt) last October.

Seems March is not the month for cars. My condolences Nephy, I can certainly sympathize and I know MouseWife can as well!

LOL I can but how did you know? Man, I was going through my receipts and found a stack of them for work we had done on our van. Oh my gosh, it seemed whenever we had the mere thought of some extra money...the car came a whining.

I probably should have kept it, considering it was paid for and sat 7 {the reason I am sitting here today and the kiddos all went to Disneyland, PTCruiser only sits 5:( } .

Car troubles, and worse because of the weather {in a lot of areas}. I wish you luck that it isn't as bad as you think.

Sucks your trip was put off, 3894.

Nephythys 03-27-2007 10:00 AM

well- at least we have a support group.

MouseWife 03-27-2007 10:06 AM

No kidding.

Sometimes I think we'd be better off without a car. I do think about how we could manage and it just seems impossible. Too many places to go without public transportation.

Count me in with the March sucked for auto category. I've done about $2,500 since Febuary on mine. Hopefully this is it besides the occasional oil change for a while.

Well, that is sucko, but great that the hubster was not seriously hurt and your daughter came out unscathed. Whew, I'm sure you breathed a real sigh of relief! :)

Careful! We don’t want to create a rift in the space-time continuum. (Hmmm… Maybe that explains the weird weather today….)

You should still go and bring yourself back a Volvo

Morrigoon 03-27-2007 07:56 PM

I feel guilty saying it's nice to know I'm not the only one... but it IS comforting ;)

'Crazy People" with Dudley Moore. I remember because I'm married to a Swede who was driving a Volvo at the time.

That is simply amazing.

I know nothing about cars. This is why I only purchase new and get extended warranties. When the warranty is done, I've been done paying for it for a while, so if it acts up, I just trade it.

I HATE dealing with bad cars.
