How did I miss this?

I saw this on a posting at MC

That is SO cool. I love teapots, but it's the peoplemover sugarbowl that totally gets me.

I wish I could mojo you! See, I told you you were way swanky! This gets major snaps. :snap: :snap:

I love all of the pieces and of course, I want them. I can think of a swell pal of mine who would go wonky for the Autopia cream pitcher (it is a creamer, right? Sadly, I lack kitchen skills but I can make coffee n' stuff and you know, I'm learning! You should see my jello molds. Breathtaking.)

I think I'll call him right now and tell him about this, even though I'm knee-deep in billing. It's all about priorities. :)

You're not alone! You'd think with the constant whine on MiceChat (of which I have been a visible whiner) Disney would have started the Peoplemover refurb by now. It's pretty clear that this is one of the most missed atrtactions in Tomorrowland. Yes, there would be an issue with all the spots where the original tracks can no longer go, but......I'm very sentimental for this ride.

I wish they would, I'd even endure it with an Incredibles theming. Just no thrill ride, please, the nice leisurely tour would be nice.

I think I saw that at the character warehouse this past weekend....

the 'no thrill ride' part is what my wife and I so dearly loved. a nice leisurly glide through the other attractions on a warm day, the cool breeze caressing you gently as you flew through the Tron display.

I think we'd do that one as many as 3 times in a row until nicely cooled and rested for the next big adventure. Rarely ever a crowd or long wait.

/sigh

ah yes, the good ol days

I, personally, am loving these new additions to the Disney catalog:

Disney doesn't respond to the whiners because whenever they pipe up loud enough I'm there saying I think it should stay gone forever. Not that I would have removed it in the first place but now that it is gone it should stay gone.

I lost that argument with the subs, so as a bone they've given me the Peoplemover. Sorry to disappoint all the supporters.

Speaking of merch.....was at the park with family yesterday and it seemed a t-shirt themed day. I wore my shag 50th girly shirt (featuring a bunch of attraction names and kids with mickey ears) and when we got on Small World, the operator up in the little crow's nest thing looked down and asked me over the mike where I got the shirt. I yelled up that I got it at Disneyana. (Actually, a certain wonderful couple bought it for me, but that's where it was available.) When he looked puzzled, I added that it was from the 50th. He said "oh, from a couple of years ago" and looked very disappointed, which made me hope he had been thinking of getting it for a chick. ;)

Then, my brother got asked by a CM where he got his Donald shirt. It's the embroidered one with Donald working at a diner - "Dissatisfaction Guaranteed". He said it was a few years old, and again, he was met with disappointment.

Late in the day my brother bought a new Donald shirt from the StarTrader. The CM who helped him said "I've never seen this one before, it's great!" Again, it was just like that Target sketch on recent SNL, where they seemed excited at the prospect of buying their own. (Actually, it was a very cool Donald Disneyland shirt, which I had never seen before.)

As always, it's apparent that CMs outgeek even the APers. :D
