I picked up this magazine at Borders the other day and it's so much fun. This issue focuses on Japan Style "Super Cute!" I love the attitude. In the list of supplies to make a planter is cement mixer with the note: optional, but handy and fun.

It's not helping my crafting ADD. Oh look! I should try that! Never mind what I haven't finished. Where can I find a cement mixer?

I'm ready to go get in my car and go to Borders. Of course, I just buy fabric and supplies but i never do anything with them. :rolleyes:

Heather just bought tickets (moments ago) for their "Maker's Faire" in San Mateo in May. Very cool.

And hey NA.... we need to make those Reb bee valances. That fabric was too cool to not get that done.

Actually, I sort of did. I bought linen tab-top curtains at Ikea for the dining room. I'm MUCH more talented at shopping.

Well, I know you're very good at picking out fuzzy water and cutting cheese....other than that, I was only at your house for breakfast once. I think Chris did most of the cooking(?), but hey, y'all managed to feed both a vegetarian and someone who won't touch veggies with the same meal, so :snap: to that.

I just don't want to feel obligated to sew for anyone else. I've got plenty of projects of my own.

Now, if you want a knitted dishcloth, I've got just the pattern for you.

You get together with Gus Gus and find a date, and I'll come be the manual labor. :snap:

I've decided that's the best part, getting all the stuff that could lead to so much creativity even it never does. There's even an article in the magazine extolling the joys of crafting even if you don't ever finish anything. I know that I enjoy being in the middle of a project more than finishing (I have actually finished a few things). Sometimes I don't quite finish because the lure of the next thing I have planned is just too enticing. Especially when I've just discovered that what I'm about to finish would make a great bedspread but it's supposed to be a sweater.:eek:

Ack! The J in me on the Meyers-Briggs personality scale is melting! I absolutely hate, hate, hate keeping my options open! Must finish! Must move on!

How about crocheting a coral reef?

This article is interesting on its own but when I read that there's a mathematician who used crochet to create a physical model of hyperbolic space (well, who hasn't) I got really excited. I love this stuff.
