 Beanyland

I found an interesting link posted on MC that has the full episode of Beanyland. It's a takeoff on Disneyland. Beany and Cecil were created by Bob Clampett, who has had an amazing career with Warner Bros. He has a Disney connection as he helped develop the first Mickey Mouse doll with Charlotte Clark. Michel Barrier interviewed him on his website.
Do you remember Beany and Cecil? |

 I loved Beany and Cecil.

I've never seen a Beany and Cecil cartoon before. Loved this. The evil guy lands and pulls out plans to exploit the moon, so I was rather surprised that the good guys also pull out plans. Gotta love that 50's expansionist spirit ;)
Heehee, the Mad Hatter Horn, Dumb Elephant ride, and carefree oh-so-happy mouse visitors - awesome. |

That was the best cartoon I've seen in a long time. Wow. That was so thick with references I had to watch it a second time.
I especially like the fact that "Dismal land' was going to be staffed with underpaid employees. :) |

Always loved Beany and Cecil. However, until today it hadn't dawned on me that Uncle Captain looks drunk.

That was fantastic! My very first toys were talking Beanie and Cecil dolls. Somewhere there's a picture of me as a baby riding Cecil. I still have them both and I think Cecil still talks. (I'm Coming Beanie!)
![]() BTW, the site where I found this pic is AMAZING! MAJOR MATT MASON! |

I had a talking "Cecil The Sea Sick Sea Serpant"! And I remember the show, but I haven't seen it since I was very little. I'll have to watch it when I have some time! Thanks!!

My mom still uses my Chatty Cathy box for her manger set. Although I'm fairly certain I never actually got a Chatty Cathy. Hmmm.

Then how'd you come to have the box? Whas Cathy Kidnapped??
	 |

Wow, Chatty Cathy must have a big box
