Just popping in briefly to say that he wasn't removed for "no apparent reason." He was removed because Sid & Marty Krofft sued the company for infringement of (or similarity to) HR Pufnstuf.

I was watching a recent episode of The Simpsons and in it the news anchorman Kent Brochman said "The Hamburglar left behind his longtime partner, Mayor McCheese."

It seems like McDonalds is no longer interested in using their cartoon characters like Grimace, Hamburglar, Birdie, and McCheese to promote their restaurants.

It's actually kind of funny. I've had three research projects involving McDonald's this semester. Last time I went to their site was a month ago, and it has changed. They had a whole section devoted to Ronald, Grimace, Birdie, Hamburgler.... I can't find it anymore.

I know in another thread I was mentioning Extreme Makeover: McDonald's Image Edition. I suppose this was just the next step. It's all fitting with the audience they're trying to "capture."

I'm a little bummed that in a month they'd take Ronald & friends off the site. Admittedly, I was procrastinating on some of my "surface" research, but... the games were kind of interesting.

Oh! I just clicked the link! The petition is to bring back the happy little sirloin headed fella. Well, I fully support that! Might I suggest putting Justin Timberlake on the case? He claims he's brought back the sexy (who knew it was even missing? Thank you, Justin, we're indepted) so bringing back the sassy little cheese tongued Mayor should be no prob.

I'd bet a month's worth of McNuggets that Mayor McCheese is better suited to the needs of Los Angeles then our current mayor is, but that's just this Angeleno's opinion. Maybe I should start a petition..

1) She drank & drive, got pulled over & arrested for a DUI.

2) She pleads guilty & has her license suspended.

3) She drives on a suspended license & gets caught.

So a mandatory, minimum 45 day jail sentence is unfair ?!

An coaster enthusiast friend of mine named Al used to play Hamburglar... I haven't heard from him in a while.

The Hamburgler joined the Dharma Initative and is laying in a heap of bones on some island...

Well, the story goes that Grimace ate him, and felt so badly about it that he had plastic surgery, changed his name to Barney and now entertains hundreds of kids on PBS. :D

Grimace had a gender re-assignment surgery... cause you know that Miss Barney is a big ol' girl....
