Actually, I see it a bit differently. The goal of any time spent in rehab is to learn how to live life in the "outside world". That includes doing all things sober and taking care of yourself. The other thing to consider is how comfortable and trusting the rehab environment will be for a person. The more trusting the patient is, the more open he or she will be to learning. Also, if you are used to a certain lifestyle and you go to rehab and all you see around you is poor, inner-city people there is a cultural divide in existence that keeps makes it difficult to make friends and relate to others. (Not to mention how harmful and distracting it would be to the other patients to have a celebrity in their midst.) Rehab under ANY circumstances is not a vacation. ALL programs - from free to astronomical - are VERY regimented and involve a lot of hard work.
