Amazon foists unwanted jockstrap ads on Disney-related site

Pretty funny that this is happening (there's a discussion of this you-know-where).

Once there was a "brief update" and ads of boxer briefs started popping up all over the page. :D

That article is hilarious.

What kind of cookies do MA readers have in their caches. Hmm...

The funny thing is that I have amazon cookies on my computer, and yet I STILL see 3 to 7 jock strap ads per page.... (and I wasn't the one that ordered them).

Mr. Jacques Strap... paging Mr. Jacques Strap.

Why would having amazon cookies prevent the ads from showing? It sounds like the ads pull from all cookies and then display ads.

Anyway, it's hilarious. I read it earlier this morning on the MP News feed. :)

I still wanna know if you got to drink that cappuccino, or if it's just a picture of a capp. It looks dreamy.

I think Cherney just has a whole collections of jock straps that he's not telling us about.

€uroMeinke 06-14-2007 08:11 PM

Obviously the add is working for somebody...

Ghoulish Delight 06-14-2007 11:00 PM

Why do I have the urge to buy a jock strap?

Oh, it's Thursday.

SzczerbiakManiac 06-15-2007 12:01 PM

All I know is that I'm enjoying reading Mice Age a whole lot more!

Moonliner 06-15-2007 12:22 PM

Wow! How does the press ever get ahold of stories like this?

Ohh yeah..

The exchange of e-mails I've had with Amazon about this little event has been hysterical, if not just plain surreal. If you're a journalist looking for a funny story to run on technology gone amuck, e-mail me. Jockstraps & Disneyland, two things guaranteed to amuse you - how can you miss!

I guess Al doesn't know his demographics as well as Amazon.

Moonliner 06-15-2007 10:45 PM

So what should we ALL pruchase from amazon in order to help support his site?

Stan4dSteph 06-16-2007 09:10 AM

Hmmm.

I'm stumped.

alphabassettgrrl 06-17-2007 07:47 PM

Steph, those are absolutely *wrong* and I think my brain just imploded!

I don't know to be grateful or disappointed that I didn't see the famous jock-strap ads.
