Shall we be Cute or Bad, Asks Calliope?
 

If you read the sooooo thread, you know that we have a new kitten in our lives. She's everything I didn't want (girl, tabby) and, it turns out, everything I wanted - she's amazing!. We've been calling her Calliope (or Kalipope) - which means Beautiful-Voiced - however, she's had moments of being Kali - the Hindu goddess of destruction. We'll see which version of her name sticks. ;)


She's very talkative and has a TON of different sounds she makes - from little coos to wild animal roars. The roars somehow seem appropriate coming from such a wild-looking beastie. She's playful, as most kittens are, but she's incredibly affectionate as well. She's a MAJOR cuddle girl and took to sleeping in bed with us immediately.

It's only been 2 days and the boys have adjusted and Aleister is simply in LOVE with her (new toy!). She's still the one who makes the most noise around the boys. They just sit patiently as she roars - except Scoundrel who still needs an attitude adjustment.


I'll have to take a few more pictures of her, but here's the first dispatch. She's incredibly difficult to photograph. I need to have a camera on had 27/7 - but she'd just eat it if I left it out.

We only have the one Kitty, I don't think our house is capable of handling two cats.

But your photos sure make it look tempting....

I think it is true about the stripes...our Kitty is pretty similar in color to Calliope...she is crazy. She will attack me some mornings when I came out for my first cup o' joe. And, you can play hide and seek with her.

Anyways, I am really glad to hear how she is settling in. ;0)

She really and truly is adorable and loud and... everything NA's ever said about her. Sooooo cute!

She is a beautiful girl and a great addition to the family I'm sure. Our new kittens look very similar to her.

I've been reminded that, although big, Aleister is still kitten. The two kittens have been up since 6 am racing about the house together. Kali likes Aleister's fluffy tail. I, on the other hand, am entering a state of sleep deprivation.

Pets can do that. Jenis' rats would get very playful at night, running all over their 'condo' and spinning in their wheel. They would even fight and we'd hear that. Aye carumba.

And, our Kitty doesn't care if you are asleep, either. She has needs, expectations. She will go from bed to bed, if the doors are open, or even slightly open. She'll let herself in. She 'launched' off of my leg one night, while I was asleep, and gave me a big gash.

She will sit outside the door of whatever room she wants to go in to and let us know it. She is such a sweetie. All of your talk makes me look at her and think she is lonely.

That is a dangerous thought.

She is such an adorable looking cat NA. My Jovi decides to play "Footie" underneath the bathroom door. In the evening when i shower i usually shut the bathroom door. Well i see this foot seriously from underneath the door and i play "Tag" with her lmao....

Your Calliope looks body wise and paws like my Jovi seriously you can see the Absyenian in both of them.

Oh btw when i have my laptop on the kitchen table desk counter she Jovi comes climbing ontop as well to be petted and loved. She is a love bug more than the boys even where i will wake up and she's with the doggies on the bed.

Oh i completely forgot. I can close our bedroom door and she can "open" the doorknob. I'm like wtf seriously. the others (boys) all know to leave the door alone but not Jovi. She's got to be "in your face" right there when the door is closed...lmao

MousePod and I talked on Skype using my iCam. She mugged for the camera, purred loudly and cood a few times. It's almost like being there!

That's ok, I'll be just as sleep deprived, if not more.

Someone bring a video camera. I'll produce, Not Afraid will direct ... and we'll see what kind of cinema masterpiece we can come up with!

Jovi is curled up on the black leather recliner with a Bon Jovi sewn pillow i made behind her and she's covering up the "Bon" so all you can see is "Jovi" lmao She sleeps on the chair when i'm on the couch but when it's bedtime she comes and when she wants to sleep on the bed during the day she stays on the bed. She loves to play with Jonny kitty those two i tell ya watch out when they are in a playful mood.

Man, miss one New Year's party and now I'm completely out of the loop. :)

Aleister is our one year old black kitten (now big and fluffy). He's shy - but less so with Calliope in the house. We adopted him at 3 months after Lyra died.

I'm sowry I hasn't said stuff for a while. I wuz busy beeing cute. But, mommy iz at home today so she showed me how to make letters again. Some people here came to my house to see me. I like meeting yous. Maybee my mommy will make some new pitshurs of me soon. I will try to be even cuter. ok i have to nap now. sleeptime.

As far as I'm concerned, that cat can be anything it wants so long as she's MINE.
