Please, a healing prayer.

Hey guys.... I don't want this to come out sounding sympathy trollish, but my dad is going in for major surgery today over at Cedars-Sinai (I'm heading over to the hospital right now) so whatever gods/goddesses/major and minor deities you pray to, if you could please keep my dad Len Levy in your healing prayers today I would be most appreciative. I know he's in good hands there but it's still scary since it's a 4+ hour complicated surgery, and any little thing helps.

Thanks so much guys! No need to post anything else to this thread, like I said, I don't want to be sympathy trolling here.

Not Afraid 08-14-2007 10:26 AM

No worries, your dad will be in my prayers.

MouseWife 08-14-2007 10:27 AM

ditto....

katiesue 08-14-2007 10:36 AM

Mine too (you and the rest of your family as well).

innerSpaceman 08-14-2007 10:50 AM

Hardly trolling. I, for one, appreciate the heads-up so's I can have my healing thoughts honed and directed.

Best wishes and all my prayers and healing thoughts to your dad.

BarTopDancer 08-14-2007 10:57 AM

What they said!

/hugs!

Snowflake 08-14-2007 10:59 AM

You can add my prayers to the list, too. Keep yourself in a calm space and report back when you can. Rooting for you and your Dad, take care.

CoasterMatt 08-14-2007 11:27 AM

We'll be praying for your dad, and your whole family.

Give us a call if you need anything.

flippyshark 08-14-2007 11:32 AM

<hugs> and positive thoughts from FL

Ghoulish Delight 08-14-2007 11:34 AM

Thoughts of success and recovery for your dad, you, and your family.

AllyOops! 08-14-2007 11:48 AM

Aww! Sweetie, you are not sympathy trolling, you are turning to concerned and caring friends whom you should always lean on in times of need. That's what friends are for!

You can trust that I will be praying for your father, you & all of your family during this trying and difficult time. Heck, I know that we all will be! May God Bless & keep you close when you need him most.

And, if it helps (because it really, truly helps me, ) I'll share the Guardian Angel prayer, which I say every morning & everytime I get behind the wheel of my car! It's my Spiritual american express- I never leave home without it. ;)

Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here,
ever this day, be at my side, to light and guard, and rule and guide. Amen.

Lots of love & prayers,
~A ♥

Morrigoon 08-14-2007 01:16 PM

*hugs* I know in the long run this will make your dad's life better, even though it has a long recovery time.

Oh, and you might want to look up Sari while you're there. She's a nurse... possibly over in the ER, I can't remember.

libraryvixen 08-14-2007 01:58 PM

I'm thinking of you and your dad Cherny.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 08-14-2007 02:08 PM

Prayers are coming from Florida.

scaeagles 08-14-2007 08:22 PM

Surgery sucks. Hope all is well and prayers are going up from Phoenix.

Chernabog 08-14-2007 09:46 PM

Awwwwww guys you really didn't have to post anything but I'm really overwhelmed, thanks so much for all of the positive energy today -- I just got home from the hospital and my dad is going to be okay (5 and a half hour surgery, yeeeeeeesh). I was actually able to talk to him for a few minutes (in a morphine-induced state, he can hit that little button as often as he wants, lol). He has a long road of recovery (and a second surgery in two months), but today was the biggie.

Again, thanks my special friends here on the LoT -- it really is wonderful to know such compassionate human beings. I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer, and know that yours today were answered in the positive!! Many hugs and much gratitude all around :) :) :)

~MS~ 08-14-2007 09:48 PM

That is wonderful news! I'm so glad you got to talk to him even if it was under the influence...keeping him and you in prayer thru the road of recovery!

Not Afraid 08-14-2007 09:51 PM

I'm glad he's going to be ok, but I'm jealous of the morphine drip. ;)

Motorboat Cruiser 08-14-2007 10:17 PM

So sorry I didn't see this sooner, Cherny. Matthew and I will continue to keep your dad and family in our thoughts. We're glad today went well.

RStar 08-14-2007 10:23 PM

I missed this earlier, but prayers will continue for healing for your dad and your family.

Oh, and that morphine drip button totaly rocks! Of course I would have prefered not to have the surgery, but that little button got me through!

Gemini Cricket 08-14-2007 10:51 PM

Here's to a speedy recovery!
Hang in there, Cherny.
:) :) :)

Stan4dSteph 08-15-2007 06:13 AM

Best wishes to your dad for a speedy recovery!

libraryvixen 08-15-2007 07:18 AM
