Spoon

One of my favorite bands, Spoon, is playing at The Music Box (Henry Fonda Theater) in September (looks like 10, 11 and 12). I won't have the funds to purchase tickets until tomorrow but I'm wondering if anyone else here has an interest in joining me.

Sadly, The Frames are already sold out.

Ghoulish Delight 08-14-2007 04:26 PM

Why, this isn't about The Tick at all!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 08-14-2007 04:27 PM

I'm going to have to sheepishly ask you to explain yourself. I'm guessing 'Spoon' has something to do with 'The Tick'; I'm just not sure how.

Ghoulish Delight 08-14-2007 04:29 PM

"Spoon!" would be The Tick's battle cry.

blueerica 08-14-2007 04:41 PM

You mean to say you didn't ever catch The Tick, EH?

!!!

I like both Spoons...

BarTopDancer 08-14-2007 04:45 PM

I thought this was going to be about the Matrix.

There is no spoon.

Sorry EH - I am concerted out for the year.

My thoughts exactly.

Poor EH - her thread got hijacked on the very first reply.

Nope, never have.

And screw you all! Heh.

You'll have to check it out sometime - I believe you would like it.

I only have the live action on DVD (Patrick Warburton was The Tick) - someone else will have to loan you the animated series.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 08-14-2007 05:13 PM

What's the co-bill? The Forks and the Knives?

If the band breaks up they can form other groups like "The soup Spoons" and "Serving Spoons."

I crack myself up sometimes....

innerSpaceman 08-14-2007 05:28 PM

I've never heard of the Spoons. But I clicked this thread thinking it would be about some indie movie, on the order of "Once." How odd, then, that the first post should mention The Frames.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-14-2007 05:45 PM

Does that imply, iSm, that you've finally seen Once?

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 08-14-2007 05:46 PM

Seriously, screw all of you. I'm going by myself.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-14-2007 05:49 PM

Mwah. I don't know Spoon. Would I like them? (I'd really love to go see the Frames at some point, though.)

You missed the obvious one: "The Sporks"

No. Merely that I know it features the guy from The Frames.

Since our conversation about Once, I've overheard 2 other random conversations about it. I really must catch it. How releaved I am, then, that there's not another such film called "Spoons" - as I'll be hardpressed to find the time for "Once."

They were featured quite prominently in Stranger Than Fiction. Most of the musical score was taken from their songs. I think you'd like them.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-14-2007 05:56 PM

Ooh. I did quite like the music from Stranger than Fiction. I'll go!

Damn me, I'll turn this whole thread back on track! It was fun annoying you while it lasted, though.

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 08-14-2007 06:50 PM

I'm glad it was fun for one of us.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 08-14-2007 06:56 PM

Awwwwwwwwww

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 08-14-2007 07:04 PM

Awwwwwwwww, phoooooooooooey.

Hehehe.

CoasterMatt 08-14-2007 07:08 PM

Can I go dressed in my Man Eating Cow costume?

blueerica 08-14-2007 07:32 PM

I wish I could go - I love Spoon! I just don't know my schedule enough in advance, and it's too early to start asking for time off. :(

CoasterMatt 08-15-2007 06:46 PM

Thanks to this thread, I used a discs worth of downloads on eMusic and am enjoying Spoon as we speak :)
