No Longer a Screamin' Virgin!

Well, I have succeded in overcoming my "Loop" issues and have navigated California Screamin'! My thinking was, what could be worse than the last couple of years? Worse thing is I'll die and the legend of my ride will live on. I wish you all could have been there!

Thanks to Matt for the support and the Hearthstone Lounge for the awesome beverages!!

katiesue 08-20-2007 12:58 PM

Yay - congratulations!

AllyOops! 08-20-2007 01:00 PM

WOW!!! I thought I was the only one who didn't do coasters!!!! I am so proud of you!!!! :snap: :snap: :) Y'all look awesome in your picture!!

It's Magic Mountain for you now, buddy! If it makes you feel any better, I had to be pulled and pushed literally onto Tatsu (while my eyes were the size of saucers, suspended on my stomach, shrieking my last goodbyes & praying like the damned while little children were strapped in beside me.)

And you know what? After all was said, done & looped? I loved it
!!

innerSpaceman 08-20-2007 01:19 PM

Are you a moaning virgin now???

Snowflake 08-20-2007 01:20 PM

Well, if you're gonna pop your cherry on a coaster, then CoastMatt is your man. You two look great!

Congrats Borneo! :snap:

RStar 08-20-2007 01:35 PM

While the legend of Bornieo being decapitated on Screamin' would have been worthy of a thread as long as the Sooooo thread, I'm glad you are still among the living to talk about it with us! :snap: :D

Congrats on conquering your fears! That's a big step!

Gemini Cricket 08-20-2007 03:08 PM

Now you're loop-y like the rest of us.
:)

wolfy999 08-20-2007 03:13 PM

Woohoo! If you can do it....anyone can (OK, maybe not my hubby)!

wendybeth 08-20-2007 06:04 PM

I'm impressed, Borneio! It's not easy to do something when your brain is telling you "Sure, the seats look safe- but upside down? What if it stops, or falls of the track, or you puke?" It's especially not easy when you have CM sitting next to you pointing out the thin pins, cables and suddenly fragile looking machinery and regaling you with tales of the decapitated.

Although I am sure Matt would never do that.;)

Congrats!

I got my sister on it, she loved it and hates roller coasters that go to fast or are to long. If they can do screemin', anyone should be able to ride her at least once (unless they don't meet the health requirements, height, ext..)

Morrigoon 08-22-2007 12:44 AM

Congrats!

So, what are the health requirements for riding your sister?

Oh wait, I think I read that wrong. My bad.

Nephythys 08-22-2007 07:16 AM

woot woot!! Way to go :)

Aw, thanks for the support everyone! I doubt Magic Mountain is anywhere in the near future - I'm more interested in Island of Adventure and WDW!! ;)

Got on it again Tuesday - suprised my niece and nephew with a ride on Screamin'!

Family resemblance?

RStar 08-22-2007 11:03 PM

Looks like you're about to hurl on your neffy though.....

:D

wendybeth 08-22-2007 11:08 PM

Hey, your eyes were open on one of them this time- good job! Now, next time try to keep your hands in the air at all times- this helps to prevent roller ennui and ensures a good, clean fall in the event of a systems failure.;)

Seriously, glad you're having fun. I love this ride- it's the best thing in DCA in my humble opinion.

Screemin' to hulk is not too bad... Just more inversions. Then move on to Duling Dragons... then jump to the most extreme roller coaster in the park, located in seuss landings ;)

Speaking of Hulk, have not been on that beast for a few years, lines too long for me but Dragons is fun...

Hulk sorry but that launch is lame compared to other launched coasters i've ridden. But our 10 minute wait was worth it for never riding it. (Spoiled by Universal Express) the only way to go stay on property(1 of 3 hotels) and show your room key and use the Universal Express lines (i.e. fastpass but better) unlimited use all day long as many times unlike fastpass.

Dueling Dragons was a freakin walk on when we were there this was in April of all times for my birthday. I don't remember how many times we rode i think like 13 (they let us use the child switch door to reride) plus the que we walked it the first time with no one literally (that que makes Indy look dull)...

I recommended hulk because it is a step up from California Screemin'... without music. It has B&M elements which are not on Intemin's Screemin’... but are on Vekomas RNRC.. Not to mention its the only B&M roller coaster, modified to have a launch.

The next step after hulk would be RNRC at MGM/Hollywood studios... but do try at least ice (extra inversion) and Fire (air time) since they are unique and present great effects. (I tend to ride Montu at Busch Gardens with eyes close because of sun.. and it helps me meditate, Coasters do different things for different people.)
