Jack Chick Figures It All Out
I happen to be a big fan of old Jack Chick. Sure, he's a paranoid, anti-Catholic, anti-science, homo-phobic, conspiracy theory following, cartoonist, but he's our paranoid, anti-Catholic, anti-science, homo-phobic, conspiracy theory following, cartoonist. And though I am sure I do not know what I mean by that, I do subscribe to his e-mail alert & I always look forward to his newest creation. Chick is anything if but prolific and here is his latest, hand drawn by the Jack, himself.

I've always found Jack Chick's faceless shining deity unsettling.
Someday I'd like to see the entirety of Chick's feature film The Light of the World. Check out the amazing clips from this glorified slideshow here. This is so risible, overdone and ludicrous, I imagine it would give pause even to devout evangelicals. "Is this really what we believe? Dang, it sounds so silly when you put it that way." The world is a weirder place with Jack T. Chick in it. |

No wonder the Churches need so much money - the electricity probably costs a fortune...

Odd coincidence - Yesterday, I found a booklet laying around at the library about "real heart disease- a heart without God in it." I have no idea if it was the same guy, but I couldn't find it on the site.
I feel kind of weird clicking around there. |
What amuses me most is the idea that God saved the dinosaurs on the ark, but somehow forgot about their oxygen needs post-flood, and that's why there aren't dinosaurs today. Why bother to load them on the ark at all? Is God into administrative efficiencies? Or didn't want to give away the ending?
Ah, amusement. |

I love the wry sarcasm and subtle irony in this guys work – skewering the anti-science religious extremists by creating satirical works based on their beliefs. He’s a comic genius!!

I've always liked the "died in the flood" theory myself, it bookends nicely. Believing in the flood and dinosaurs at the same time is pretty easy. Why did he have to make it harder? |
The second issue of "The Imp" was a great overview of Chick, with a very humorous (frightening?) Chick glossary.
