Gay Day 2007

Sooo.... Who's going?

Morrigoon 09-30-2007 09:18 PM

I'll go Sunday.

alphabassettgrrl 09-30-2007 09:29 PM

Plan to be there both days. :)

Not Afraid 09-30-2007 09:52 PM

We're in PS.

innerSpaceman 09-30-2007 10:36 PM

zapp and i are in Vegas. We the fags with, on average, the most infamous and clever red shirts in the Park on any given GayDay (though last year was kinda tame). zapp came up with a great idea for my shirt this year that would have been borderline kick-out-of-the-parkable ... and pushing the Disney-connection homo taste envelope ... even for me!

We're bummed we can't be there this year.

Chernabog 09-30-2007 11:27 PM

I'll be there both days with double entendre shirts to enjoy :)

CoasterMatt 10-01-2007 11:27 AM

We'll be there Sunday... but the only red shirt I've got is a Duff beer one.

Disneyphile 10-01-2007 11:32 AM

Ken and I are at a wedding in Sacramento on Saturday, and then Yosemite during our drive home on Sunday, so we'll be missing it this year. :(

Gemini Cricket 10-01-2007 11:43 AM

I'll be there! :)

alphabassettgrrl 10-01-2007 01:52 PM

We planning anything? I'll be at DCA on Sunday and Disneyland on Saturday.

BarTopDancer 10-01-2007 02:34 PM

Will not be there.

On Saturday I'll be doing the single rider's cruise on the Twain at 11, then the Micechat meet at 12, then the BEAR LUNCH (rawr!) at the hungry bear, then the group photo at 2.

So I have 3 hours of "scheduled" stuff and the rest of the weekend is wiiiiiide open.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 10-01-2007 03:46 PM

I'll be there - but my friends bday -so a day of bday fun!

Gemini Cricket 10-01-2007 03:47 PM

Insert Appropriate GayDay Double Entendre Here.

(And, if it's wide enough, insert another one)

JWBear 10-01-2007 04:47 PM

Inserting another one will also make it wider.

SzczerbiakManiac 10-06-2007 09:35 AM

I'm gonna swing by a little later today. Hopefully I'll see someone I know. If you see me, please flag me down. :)

As wide as Larry Craig's stance?

Done.

Gn2Dlnd 10-06-2007 10:21 AM

I'm heading down, looks like the MC meat is the best place to find the few of us who didn't go out of town.

I just have to resolve to be patient for the hour of dithering before the crowd decides to do anything.

Pantalettes!

JWBear 10-06-2007 09:29 PM

I saw GC today. Nobody else.

RStar 10-06-2007 09:48 PM

I just got back. Criminy, it was busy! We were there from 7-9, the subs and HMH were and hour and a half. Was this due in part to gay days, or just the Halloween Time crowd? we did see a lot of red ****s though, including one that read "What Would Walt Do?".

I believe this is your "r," sir.

CoasterMatt 10-06-2007 10:22 PM

ThinKrisps, please :)

Gn2Dlnd 10-06-2007 11:22 PM

If you can make it to Larchmont Village tomorrow, 9ish to 2ish, you will find me AND my ThinKrisps!

At the Park I hung out with Chernamate, Al, GC, Super K, Leigh-Ann, Theo, and Mr. Matt TheatreTech. My red shirt read, "Spreading Pixie Dust Since 1962." Did the Mansion, which stopped right at the ballroom so we could have an extended view of the goings on. Saw lots of Mice Chatters heading towards the Cove Bar. Lots of random strangers just waving at each other, that's what's fun about wearing the red shirts. Didn't see a single scandalized straight family. In fact, I was complimented on my shirt by a dad with a family, and a mom pushing a grampa in a wheelchair! Didn't stay late, I have to be up too early for the market. I'm glad I went. I've been feeling pretty disconnected lately. Too many friends moving away, becoming ill, or otherwise becoming unavailable. I suppose that's life. Anyhow, I had fun, and it was great hanging out with people I like!

Oooopppssss!

I ment that to read SHIRTS. Red SHIRTS.

Yikes!

Sorry about that! I got up early to have a garage sale, quit by 3:00, and then went to DtD to see a movie, and to Disneyland to see the red SHIRTS. I got home at like 9:00. And I was dead tired. So, I forgot an R.

Morrigoon 10-07-2007 07:19 PM

Was there today. Lighter crowd than I'm used to but maybe that's because of it being Sunday. Hung out with ABG and Cherny and a couple others, exhausted by 5 so most of us split.

Popped by the meet, but they were lunching at Zocalo and my budget simply wouldn't allow for it (especially for food I'm not super nuts about). But Taste Pilots was good. The kiosks are gone.

alphabassettgrrl 10-07-2007 10:09 PM

I missed everybody from LoT... :: sad ::

Next year. JW, you should have flagged us down when you saw us going to the Cove Bar! :) We didn't actually get *in* the bar Saturday, it was too crowded. We wound up at the Heathstone.

I'm crazy but harmless. Really. :)

JWBear 10-07-2007 10:38 PM

When did I see you???

Chernabog 10-07-2007 10:55 PM

As much fun as I had hanging out with my friends the last few days, I'm pretty annoyed at myself for buying a new AP; shoulda stuck to my original plan of getting a 2 day park hopper for the weekend.

Disneyland has really, REALLY lost the magic for me.

I'm sure I'll make the pass "worth it" this year, but honestly I'm so glad we've all been getting together in SO many other venues than Disneyland so that I can see my dear friends the swanky LoTters!!!!

Morrigoon 10-07-2007 11:06 PM

I'm sure there will be DL swankings to be had :)

JWBear 10-08-2007 08:30 AM

I didn't see any miceChatters (other than GC), and I wasn't at the Cove. Who did you see?

RStar 10-08-2007 11:48 AM

I have a bad habit of looking more at the park than looking for people I know. I could walk right by someone and never even know it.

Except once, I spotted Steve, and yelled his name. He didn't hear me and just kept truckin'...... :D

Gemini Cricket 10-08-2007 12:58 PM

Well, I had a tremendous time at Gay Days at Disneyland.
I got to the park early and spent some time walking around before meeting up with Chernabog and Nick. Lots of red shirts to look at.
I heard maybe one person say, "They're everywhere!" But not a thing after that...
I ran into the MC meet by the HM and said hello. Then I headed over to Space to meet Cherny and Nick. We attempted to get FastPasses but it was 101.
We headed to the Mark Twain for the Singles Cruise there. It was fun.
After that, it was a hub meet and then the bear lunch at the Hungry Bear. (There were tons of bears there.) Lucky Nick got to share his table with a hot bear and a huge buff bear. Lucky witch... :D
We did the group pic and then headed to DCA to look at the zotrope and the animatronic catepillar from "A Bug's Life". If you haven't seen the zoetrope it's amazing. It's worth a trip into DCA for a look.
We did ToT with one of Cherny's friends who was a Disneyland and DCA virgin. I hadn't seen the Halloween decor on the inside of ToT... it was a treat.
After that, it was dinner with Al, Leigh-Ann, SuperKeith, Theo, TheatreTechMatt, Cherny and Gn2Dlnd at the Plaza Inn.
After undressing and dressing at Nick's car in the Timon Lot with Cherny, we headed over to the House of Blues for the Gay Days Dance Party. We met up with DoomBGI from MC and went dancing. We checked out lots of cute boys and had a great time.
I won't fill you in on the details, if you weren't there it was your loss... but I will say that there were high flying almost naked men, a cute singer on stage who stripped for us and a lovely drag queen named Momma who dressed as the Fairy Godmother this year. (I've never been fingered by a 7 foot blue fairy before... but now I can say I have!) :D

All in all, I loved seeing red. Many cute boys to look at...
And as a side note, I ran into someone I met online on a personals dating board. I said hi. That was it... no sparks and definitely no fire and music...

:D

This fairy had a great time.
:)

Edit to add:
There were drag queens at the HOB party who dressed up like the Disney characters. It was awesome. There was Cinderella, Belle, Alice, a contemporary Snow White and of course the Fairy Godmother. These costumes were total CM quality. Very high class. :)

Morrigoon 10-08-2007 02:53 PM

Did you ever make it Sunday? Originally we were going to stick around and see you, but we old people pooped out by 5.

Unfortunately, no.
I had to work for a bit and do laundry (nothing to wear). By the time that was done it was a little too late.
:(

Morrigoon 10-08-2007 04:51 PM

Well, no worries since obviously we didn't last either.

Man, I seriously need some all-day park swankings. My stamina is totally down these days. I'm forever pooping out by evening.

(Then again, if I didn't stay up till all hours on Saturday nights, that might help too)

alphabassettgrrl 10-08-2007 06:38 PM

I would have done better Sunday except my dog kept me up all night. I swear that dog hates it when I sleep. I got a few hours in the park Sunday, so I wasn't terribly disappointed. I went home when I was tired which I think makes me old.
