Cocktails- Wednesday Night-somewhere?

Well- after much thought and fried brains the trip is settled for the funeral. I get in Wednesday afternoon and thought an impromptu get-together would be nice.

If my hosts (:snap: who rocketh the waffles- yea verily they do:snap: ) are up to it I would like to gather the elders, put on the cheese fezz hats (ok maybe not) and do some swanking with the LoT crew- get some downtime with good friends and good people before facing the dire task of a funeral with guests who I am sure are not expecting us on Thursday-

So- Wednesday night? DTD maybe? I am open to ideas- time not set since I have not finalized things with T & K yet and don't want to put them out any more than I already am.

Thoughts? Who might be able to attend- would love to see who I can while I am there. Will be grabbing some park time since I have an AP and there is nowhere better to rid yourself of gloom and sadness than Disneyland.

See some of you soon- now I need to try to sleep.....maybe.

alphabassettgrrl 10-01-2007 10:15 PM

Travel safely.

BarTopDancer 10-01-2007 10:29 PM

Sounds like fun. Count me in as a mostly yes. Need to see if I can get off work at a decent hour.

Disneyphile 10-01-2007 10:33 PM

DtD would be perfect, because I have an early morning with my business network the following day. :)

CoasterMatt 10-01-2007 10:36 PM

I'd love to join you, but we're having an employee preview of Halloween Horror Nights.

Not Afraid 10-01-2007 11:14 PM

Depending on time, I might be able to make it.

Morrigoon 10-02-2007 12:42 AM

It's possible.

Mousey Girl 10-02-2007 06:06 AM

*sigh*
Once again, I wish I lived closer.

Nephythys 10-02-2007 07:31 AM

:) sounds fun- I've done Uva- what suggestions as to where?

BarTopDancer 10-02-2007 08:05 AM

Grand Cal.

Disneyphile 10-02-2007 09:34 AM

The AP Lounge is nice, but I really liked the nice quiet bar outside of Steakhouse 55.

Lost Bar is great too, and they serve awesome nachos. :D

blueerica 10-02-2007 09:44 AM

Very very possible that I'll be there - it depends entirely on how much of my report I can get done.

I totally forgot about the lounge outside Steakhouse 55.

Lost Bar is always fun. But the last time I went there was a "bartender" was making drinks by looking at the menu.

What time were y'all thinking?

Disneyphile 10-02-2007 09:55 AM

How about 8'ish? Not trying to answer for Neph, but she'll be there via our transportation, and that's what's best for us. ;)

Plus, that gives people enough time to get off work and not have to worry about getting stuck in traffic, etc.

I had the same expereince, only she had some little book she was looking everything up in. She finally just asked me how I liked my drink made, meaning it wasn't in her book and she had no idea.

Sounds perfect to me! How did you know my concern was going to be traffic? ;)

 That's scary.

Nephythys 10-02-2007 10:20 AM

I am at your mercy T- lead me as you will.

Sigh, except those of us working obnoxiously long days. Yesterday it was 10a-9p. <gag> Sorry I'll miss you this time, C...

*sigh* I understand H- I do- I'm there through Friday night- so if you have any free time.....well, maybe ya know :)

blueerica 10-02-2007 11:23 AM

Somehow, I forgot (because I was feeling a little better after some hot tea, vitamins, etc) -- I'm in the midst of cold/allergies/something-that's-making-me-feel-like-crap... I still really want to go, but I'm making sure I put that disclaimer out there in case I wake up tomorrow and feel like I got hit with a mac truck.

Nephythys 10-02-2007 11:33 AM

:) this is turning into a girls night out (well, except for Ken)

BarTopDancer 10-02-2007 12:24 PM

Ugh. I was just reminded that our viewing of the Stanley Cup is tomorrow night. I need to find out what time we are going.

Been there, done that, way too many times. ;)

I could always persuade him to wear a wig and heels. ;)

That reminds me of a few pictures I have. Not sure I should post them. The subject may not be too thrilled. ;) :p

Considering that Ken proudly paraded around one night on our recent cruise in my bra while wearing lipstick and heels, to the tune of "I'm Too Sexy", I doubt he'd mind. ;)

(For all of you cruising next May, you so need to play, or at least watch, the adult-oriented official game "Magic Quest" one evening at Rockin' Bar D. And definitely bring a camera. ;) )

Morrigoon 10-02-2007 04:23 PM

BTD: Stanley Cup????? Is this a public viewing or an appointment thing? And where? :D

Put my vote in for the Swank Lounge 55.

Season Ticket holder ticketed event viewing for 27 hours at the Ponda.

You may be able to find tickets on eBay if you really want them. It will be a walk through, no touching, no photos with it. Ooh, ahh, get out.

madmonkeygirl 10-02-2007 05:05 PM

Cocktails-Wednesday Night-somewhere?

Well CM and i are heading to Universal Halloween Horror Night preview night for employees and a guest so i'm out otherwise i would definitely consider it. Sorry i'm gonna get the scare of my life it it's anything like Knott's was.

Morrigoon 10-02-2007 05:19 PM

No photos? Screw that.

Disneyphile 10-02-2007 05:51 PM

BTD - I've got an idea. Bring the Cup to the meet. It'll hold one hell of a lot of beer and be fun to pass around. ;)

That way, you can attend both!

Great idea!

alphabassettgrrl 10-02-2007 06:53 PM

Oooohhhhh, the shiny!!!

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled drink-up!

Disneyphile 10-02-2007 06:55 PM

Everyone loves the shiny. :D

Morrigoon 10-02-2007 07:54 PM

Shiny! Must... obey... the shiny!

Disneyphile 10-03-2007 01:30 AM

Ok, I'm ready to drink the entire Stanley Cup full of booze. Is it Lounge time yet? ;)

Morrigoon 10-03-2007 01:47 AM

Patience, grasshopper.

BarTopDancer 10-03-2007 08:30 AM

We're going to be leaving to go see it at 2am. Sorry dudes ;)

Disneyphile 10-03-2007 09:28 AM

So, that means no Stanley Cup at the Lounge. However, that does mean BTD at the Lounge, and that's even cooler. :D

BarTopDancer 10-03-2007 10:00 AM

Awww. I feel loved! BTD can come play till 11:45 cause we're meeting at the Ponda at midnight. If I remember I'll load up the pics from the HB Pier onto my camera.

Disneyphile 10-03-2007 10:04 AM

Sounds good to me! It's a bit of an early night for us too, because I have to get up at *gag* 5:30 tomorrow morning for my business network group.

BarTopDancer 10-03-2007 11:46 AM

Where are we meeting?

Morrigoon 10-03-2007 11:47 AM

8pm at the Swank Lounge, I think

blueerica 10-03-2007 02:25 PM

The more I cough, the less likely it seems I will be able to make it tonight. :( Have a hot toddy for me.

/hack

BarTopDancer 10-03-2007 02:34 PM

What is the Swank Lounge?

Not Afraid 10-03-2007 04:09 PM

I just got home from round 1 of work and I'm feeling nauseous. That might be because the only thing I've eaten today is a giant apple fritter. I sure as hell hope I'm not getting sick. I'm going to rest and see how I feel in a bit.

Morrigoon 10-03-2007 04:14 PM

Steakhouse 55... the former Top Brass Bar over by Goofy's Kitchen.

I *think* that's where we're meeting.... are we?

Disneyphile 10-03-2007 07:17 PM

Yes, 8pm at the Swank Lounge (outside of Steakhouse 55). :D

We're just now eating dinner, and then we'll be there. We should be right on time. :)

blueerica 10-03-2007 08:57 PM

I sicker than ever. I sorry.

Must see next time.

*wipes snot off of keyboard*

Prudence 10-03-2007 10:55 PM

So, how swanky is the swank lounge? Do they know how to make/have the ingredients for a Cloister?

Disneyphile 10-03-2007 11:58 PM

It was totally swanky this evening.

Neph had the glowing Dreams martini. The light-up ice cube nearly blinded her while trying to drink. I don't think Disney thought that one out too well. ;)

BarTopDancer 10-04-2007 08:17 AM

She drank the Tidy Bowl drink??

Wow!

I just could not get motivated to get off the couch and go. It took all my effort to go to the Ponda and see the shiny.

Not Afraid 10-04-2007 09:42 AM

I'm so sorry I missed it. I felt like crap the entire evening, but today I'm feeling much better. I'm grateful it doesn't seem to be the flu. "Don't try and survive all day on a giant apple fritter" is my new motto. Actually, "Just leave the fritter alone" would be a better one.

blueerica 10-04-2007 10:06 AM

I'm glad I didn't go. I am starting to feel better, but still pretty sick. No one deserves to feel as craptastic as I have the last few days, and I'm glad I didn't get a chance to spread the love.

Yummy. Apple fritters.

Nephythys 10-08-2007 06:46 PM
