Sunday is Daylight Savings

Thought you oughta know.

So at 2am, the clocks revert to 1am. Or, more realistically, reset your clocks before you go to bed Saturday night so you can sleep in an extra additional super-duper bonus hour on Sunday!

I have court bright and early on Monday morning so..... ugh. LOL.. Tho I guess an extra hour is an extra hour!

BDBopper 11-02-2007 11:35 AM

Both my computer and VCR decided to turn their clocks back last week. I hate them. LOL

I like my VCR flashing 12:00 much better thank you very much. LOL

Heck no. I am going to set my alarm for 1:55 a.m. (so I have 5 minutes to wake up and be alert), and reset my clock at 2:00 a.m. It is the only proper thing to do!

BarTopDancer 11-02-2007 11:44 AM

I'm just going to stay up all night and take advantage of that extra party hour.

I LOVE the new Daylight Savings Change Date.

Here in L.A., the change occurs after dark. So rather than one day it's light at 6pm and the next it's dark .... now it's become naturally darker and darker such that it's dark at 6pm and the next day (post change), well it's still dark.

This has a far less drastic (and depressing) effect on my biological systems and fragile psyche.

I love the new change date and ... short of just keeping Daylight Savings Time as the New and Permanent Time ... I hope the change date sticks around.

My watch is still on Eastern Daylight Time.

Snowflake 11-02-2007 01:38 PM

I don't wear a watch so I never know what is the time.

I will welcome an extra hour of shut-eye.

Chernabog 11-02-2007 02:10 PM

IsM has a fragile psyche? Wha-wha-whaaaaaat?

innerSpaceman 11-02-2007 02:33 PM

Yes, so much so that the mis-writing of my moniker acronym as IsM rather than the proper iSm greatly upsets me. :p

I remember reading in few places, including this board if I'm not mistaken that, if your computer changed last week, you are probably missing some essential updates to your operating system that it would be advisable to download.

There is a patch that was released by Microsoft to correctly update the time. It was released a month or two ago. One for the spring time change was released too. But if you haven't downloaded it, everything will be fine come Sunday.

Remember, if your cell phones don't automatically update, turn them off and back on.

Boo. It should be just before Halloween. Period. :p

I think each date should be determined by lottery and then announced every two years in conjunction with the awarding of Olympic host cities.

That will add a sadly lacking element of spontaneity to our calendar.

"In 2014 we will 'fall back' on Wednesday, March 23, and 'spring foward on Sunday June 6. In 2015 we will spring forward on January 23 and fall back on January 27. And Luanda, Angola, will host the 2014 Winter Olympics."
