Ghostland Observatory Nov 30th
Starting the thread. Discuss.
|
What?
|
Much of the conversation about this show is in the Gogol Bordello thread (don't ask).
I have my ticket. |
We have ours. We loved their show in NYC. Tons of energy and stage presence, incredible bass, gorgeous lasers. F'n awesome.
My Space page If you like this music at all, you need to see them live. |
Tonight! Tonight!
Ghostland Observatory, 8:00, Henry Fonda Music Box. Tickets still available. Who's going? Those that I know are going are me, CP, Mousepod, EH1812, possibly Nirvanaman. Anyone else in? |
Well, tonight's the night. Don't think the show is sold out... anyone else going?
|
Eek. I totally forgot about this.
It's not looking to likely for me at this point. Bummer! |
I'm a possibility....trying to hear some of their music first. Not that such a thing has ever really stopped me before.
|
I'd likely go just to hang out on the cool patio during the show ... if it weren't, ya know, raining.
G.O. not my cup o' tea, but ENJOY THE SHOW THOSE THAT GO! |

CP -n- GD at an NSYNC concert... (???) :D |
I dig the groove. Nirvanaman is in!
Where shall I procure some entrance media? |
No dough... but have fun!

Or if you're worried it might sell out in the meantime, you can buy 'em and pay to print them through ticketassmaster. |
So looking forward to this, as I'm in a dancing mood!
|
Ticketmaster isn't selling tickets I just checked.
|
I just called the Music Box (323 464 0808) and they said there are plenty of tickets left. No guarantees, can't set any aside. Also, the box office is CASH ONLY.
FYI |
... and a lot cheaper than ticketmaster anyway.
|
I shall rely on the Box Office then.
|
Debating, debating, debating...
|
I am out. I don't feel like driving to LA in the rain.
|
I'll have to sit this one out - I have a prior commitment to do an interview about my relationship with my hairdresser - oh and a collage...
|
4 of us plus a possible Bornieo...

Not enough half naked chicks for me to attend.
|
Give Borneio a break, guys. He;s DYING!
|
Bliss! Matched the energy of the NY show (though Webster Hall has the edge in sound quality).
What I love about G.O. is that they, to my mind, manage to skirt that thin line between going absolutely over the top and pretentiousness. Which, I admit, is a difficult stance to defend when talking about a band with a goofy white dude in a powder blue satin cape, but they just so unapologetically (word of the week, folks) go out there and rock hard. |
Wow, just wow. The trip out sounds they evoke from their crazy ass set up and the pounding bass and the amazing lasers...the songs that they just let go and go and then drop and bring screaming back, inducing frenzy in the crowd...incredible. I enjoyed it even more this time around. Having other people with us helped :)
I always know it's that kind of show when I am moved to cover my eyes and just let that sound fill me. Next time they're in town I've got to procure a little enhancement |
There were lasers?
DAMMIT!!! I looooove lasers! |

Best lasers ever - Pink Floyd Division Bell tour.
|
I need to add an asterisk - Best Lasers this side of a crazy huge stage show. (I've never been to a U2 concert or the like.)
|
I appreciate your asterisk. And your enthusiasm. While I wasn't completely blown away by the show - I got what they were trying to accomplish (and think that they just might be able to do it at some point). The clearly devoted audience really helped make the show special. Thanks again to GD and CP getting me out of the house and to the gig.
