MouseWife 11-13-2007 11:16 AM

Oh, he is just too darling!!!

Congrats!!

Disneyphile 11-13-2007 11:17 AM

AGH!!! I'm melting. Too much cuteness!

Gemini Cricket 11-13-2007 11:18 AM

Oh my freakin' cod!
He is soooo adorable. Such big eyes! Just like your Uncle Cricket.
I looove heeem!
:)

katiesue 11-13-2007 11:19 AM

Awww so cute. Congratulations!

mousepod 11-13-2007 11:20 AM

What a good looking guy.

Snowflake 11-13-2007 11:22 AM

Okay, I am now in diabetic shock from exposure to too much cuteness!

What a sweetie he looks to be.

Congrats!

Ghoulish Delight 11-13-2007 11:24 AM

Wow, I don't even like pugs and he's adorable.

It is going to be very, very difficult to say "no" with those big, sweet puppy eyes staring you down.

He really is adorable, and I love his name!

Not Afraid 11-13-2007 11:28 AM

I'm just going to stay home from work today and play with my photo booth. ;)

Ghoulish Delight 11-13-2007 11:29 AM

Thurston Jowls?

alphabassettgrrl 11-13-2007 11:30 AM

Yes, and the dog is cute, too.

Why is Julian Sands in "Gothic" coming to mind?

flippyshark 11-13-2007 11:41 AM

Awww! I'm officially envious. I can almost smell the puppy breath from here.

Capt Jack 11-13-2007 12:13 PM

wow. hes a puppy? looks pretty good and solid already.

great expressive face there. many great pics to follow Im sure

Alex 11-13-2007 12:27 PM

Men in Black permanently ruined pugs for me. I can never see one (including in your pictures) and not want to shake some information out of it.

blueerica 11-13-2007 12:39 PM

Hahaha, Alex....

NA, the pug is cute as can be!!!

lashbear 11-13-2007 12:51 PM

(french accent) "Poopeee"

(not to mean he poops all over the place or anything...)

...And an inspired name. I lovey it.

Morrigoon 11-13-2007 12:52 PM

Aw.... look at that FACE!!! SO cute!

LSPoorEeyorick 11-13-2007 01:01 PM

Very sweet - very emotive!

Brigitte 11-13-2007 01:41 PM

Very cute :) Welcome to the world of being owned by a pug... How do the cats like him?

We also have a new dog (acquired yesterday). Robb has been wanting a mini pinscher for the longest time and finally found one. I won't hijack Thurston's thread with pics, but I'll post one when I finally get her to sit still for one.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 11-13-2007 01:44 PM

Looks like an excuse to take post boob pictures. ;)

What a sweet looking doggy! Awwww (AAchooo!)

Cadaverous Pallor 11-13-2007 01:46 PM

Aww, wrinkley face! :D He must be really soft, too.

3894 11-13-2007 01:56 PM

Mwah, Thurston dahling!

BDBopper 11-13-2007 01:57 PM

Oh my what a cutie! :)

I love the name too and the first thing I think of when I hear the name Thurston is appropriate somewhat. When I hear the name Thurston I always think of the artist Thurston Harris who had a hit in the 1950's with "Little Bitty Pretty One" with his backup group, The Sharps. Well your cutie is the "Little Bitty Pretty Pug!" ;)

(yes I've been an expert in DooWop since I was sixteen)

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 11-13-2007 02:22 PM

The dog is adorable!

Also, your tits look fantastic in that top.

CoasterMatt 11-13-2007 02:31 PM

What a cute lookin' doggy! Ethel and Lucy wanna play!

JWBear 11-13-2007 04:18 PM

Awwwwwww....... What a cutie!

Now you need to gat a female, and name her "Lovey". ;)

(And how are the cats coping?)

Kevy Baby 11-13-2007 06:04 PM

So will Thurston be getting one of these?

I can tell that NA wrote the copy:

Damnit. That's what I was going to say. Get out of my brain!!!!
(cept I would have referred to the girls as "b00bies")

Not Afraid 11-13-2007 11:31 PM

I really just wanted to show off the girls. ;)

I took him with me pet sitting today. He played with a Dalmation, an miniature Husky puppy, a chihuahua puppy, 2 black pugs, Toby NGU's Chi/Scottie puppy, 2 ****zsu, Gus the pug, and 2 long haired-dachshund puppies. The pugs all approved. Actually, he was great with all of the dogs. He was EXHAUSTED! Gus's mom was home, so he slept in her arms while I took those babies for a walk. Then we got into the car and he was snoring within 30 seconds.

He's more afraid of the cats than vice versa.

And, he's sitting next to me and just farted.

libraryvixen 11-14-2007 12:00 AM

that dog is so damn cute!! :D

Morrigoon 11-14-2007 12:09 AM

NA: shih-tzu won't get caught up in the language filters ;)

NickO'Time 11-14-2007 12:12 AM

Congrats on the new doggy! How sweet.

wendybeth 11-14-2007 01:13 AM

Tori is in love.......especially since he farts.

Him is really cute.

Not Afraid 11-14-2007 10:19 AM

He looks like a little eggroll, which prompted me to say "with six, you get eggroll". I got a good  out of Chris.

Gemini Cricket 11-14-2007 10:34 AM

He's so cute, I want to eat him.
:D

Capt Jack 11-14-2007 10:38 AM

Not Afraid 11-15-2007 10:05 AM

Oh, Chris has been in that phase a LOOOONG time.

Capt Jack 11-15-2007 10:10 AM

kitty rocca? if not, its only "not YET"

Gemini Cricket 11-15-2007 10:11 AM

Yeah, make sure he doesn't eat the kitty pate. Frodo loved to eat kitty poop and goose poop.

Capt Jack 11-15-2007 10:15 AM

ok...I havent a clue why, but discussing a dog eating cat poopage is nuthin...goose poop...grossed me out beyond my ability to imagine

Not Afraid 11-15-2007 10:22 AM

Cat toys seem to be the biggest fascination for him right now. I'm sure poop is next.

Gemini Cricket 11-15-2007 10:38 AM

In Monterey, there are lots of Canadian geese... Frodo loved them. He loved to chase them and, well you know...

Not Afraid 11-15-2007 03:33 PM

Poor Thurston needs to be snipped. Badly.

Disneyphile 11-15-2007 06:03 PM

Sounds like you've also reached the "What is he humping?" stage too. ;)

Kevy Baby 11-15-2007 06:10 PM

So she is not referring to his toenails?

Not Afraid 11-15-2007 06:15 PM

No, that would be clipped.

Gemini Cricket 11-16-2007 12:17 AM

So tonight I made a new friend. His name is Thurston. And he is the cutest puppy on the planet.
After our Not Afraid posted her pictures here I simply had to meet him. So after tormenting NA for a day or so, I invited myself over to Casa du Swanque and met the new pup.
After paying little regard to his owners, I quickly dove to the floor and met Thurston. :D
He was sleepy at first and all of a sudden his puppy power kicked in and I got kisses and loving nibbles all over my face.
He's soft and cuddly and makes all sorts of noises that make him sound like a cute little piglet.
After devouring my shoelaces, Thurston sat in my lap and got all sleepy again.
But without a doubt, Thurston is a mama's boy. Anytime mom got up and left the room, he would stare at the last place he saw her and wait for her return... as still as a stone lion. So cute.
He seems to get along with Calliope and Charles very well. The others seem kind of skeptical. In fact, Scoundrel made no appearance at all. He was surely pouting somewhere. :D And Jack was downright jealous of the large eggroll sleeping on Lisa's shoulder. Jack gave Thurston the stink eye all night. Hysterical.

I heart Thurston.
:)

And, oh yes, Lisa and Chris were there too. :D

wendybeth 11-16-2007 12:55 AM

Dammit, GC- I owe you some mojo. And I'm jealous! He's so cute!

I can just picture Jack engaging the 'Stink Eye' glare of absolute disdain. :D

Snowflake 11-16-2007 08:05 AM

Great report GC! Glad you made some time for NA & €, too!

JWBear 11-16-2007 10:13 AM

I wanna meet Thurston!

Love GC's report, can't mojo you babe. Can't wait to see him!

Gemini Cricket 11-16-2007 11:37 AM

I'm having cuteness withdrawls. :)

We took Thurston for a walk and he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. We took him to the Pee Tree and we stood around watching him. He just stood there looking at us as if to say, "What do ya want from me? I'm a puppy. I'm new here. What do I do?"
I demonstrated, but he didn't quite get it. He'll figure it out.
He's really smart, too. We tried to teach him to sit, and at the very last try he was almost sitting on his own.
:)

BarTopDancer 11-16-2007 12:27 PM

I have a lovely pair of apricots......

Charles and Thurston sillies!

He went for his vet check today and charmed the office. He did OK with the thermometer up his butt, but did NOT like his nails trimmed. I'm glad I had them do it.

He gets snipped on the 14th.

If he does eat Poop, you can call him Thurston Howl the Turd.

You probably confused him when you started the name writing in the sand business. Admit it- you did. All guys do. Only up here it's in the snow.:D

Not Afraid 11-17-2007 11:11 PM

I can't seem to go to a "general" store and not buy dog toys. It used to be cat toys - and if Thurston keeps playing with their toys I'll be buying more of those too.

Tonight, I bought him a giant squeaky stuffed olive (stuffed as in ''plush" and stuffed as in "with a plush pimento"). It's probably a better toy to bring along when visiting friends with a pet bunny then a plush, squeaky bunny. ;)

Awww... puppy belly!

Disneyphile 11-19-2007 05:45 PM

He gets cuter by the minute! I heart him.

Gemini Cricket 11-19-2007 06:07 PM

I want to see him again so I can hug him and kees him and smash his face with the pinchings and the lovings and the cute puppy shenanigans.
:)

Not Afraid 11-22-2007 09:01 PM

So, today I got a tip from MousePod about a dog show on NBC. I turned it on, of course but got quite a reaction out of Thurston. We already know he's not quite "familiar" with the TV, but having actual dogs appearing, larger than life and looking so beautiful, was a bit too much for him. He stood up on the couch, in front of the TV and barked every time a dog appeared on screen. He also didn't like the sound of Chris' phone ringing nor of the trash truck.

I think we lead too quite of a life.

Disneyphile 12-17-2007 01:12 PM

Did you have the Dane neuticals installed? ;)

DreadPirateRoberts 12-17-2007 01:27 PM

Poor little guy. He's probably not as cocky today.

Disneyphile 12-17-2007 01:29 PM

I wonder if he has the balls to still bark at the TV?

Not Afraid 12-17-2007 01:37 PM

He doesn't know anything mis missing! He's still the cute little bundle of boy he ever was. Sadly, no neuticles were purchased during this event.

~MS~ 12-17-2007 03:06 PM

awwwww ..sending him swift healing vibes!

Snowflake 12-17-2007 06:08 PM

You would have never known he was fresh from surgery, he was active, running, barking, romping and ready for all sorts of badness action. He's a great little dog!

Morrigoon 12-17-2007 06:15 PM

NA: Shall I bring Rudolph over on NYE so Thurston can get his bark on?

Not Afraid 12-17-2007 06:50 PM

I own a copy of Rudolph. I have a feeling he's be barking at all of the drunks instead. It's going to be an interesting year.

Cadaverous Pallor 12-17-2007 06:53 PM

I'm just happy the little piggy is doing well :)

Not Afraid 12-17-2007 06:54 PM

Yes, he's quite the little piggy. Oink Oink, Snort Snort. Complete with curley tail.

Not Afraid 12-26-2007 11:07 PM

I dig the use of sepia just because animal eyeshine always bugs me in photos. It's really hard to get good pics of the bunny for the same reason. I may try the same trick...
