Broadway goes dark - Strike

It's not quite the headline grabber of the Hollywood strike, but much of Broadway is shut down due to a stage hand strike.

Rather a bummer since I have tickets for Wicked next week. :(

I heard about this. I hope they resolve it soon. Fascinating that all of Broadway operates with what seems to be just a few stagehands. I would have expected more, but it's only a few hundred.

If you'd like to come to Orlando instead, I work with people who are able (and OH so inclined) to perform Wicked ad nauseum whether you want them to or not. They'd be delighted to have an audience, I'm sure.

I'm just glad they waited until after we were there last month. That's all that matters.

Be careful what you wish for, Moonliner :)

Yeah... This is Kevy we're talking about!

Sorry, Moonliner. But I'm sick of the lower-rungs of the entertainment ladder getting screwed out of a fair share of the money the entertainment industry reaps.

I support this strike as I do the Writer's Strike, and hope it wrecks havoc on the NYC economy. It's a shame for all the people who will lose their night of entertainment, but vital for the people who work hard to provide that entertainment.

Wicked is playing in LA...

And it was a blast! I hope you get to see it Moonliner. Perhaps they will honor the tickets at a later date?

A theatre strike will be just a blip in the NYC economy.

There were more talks this weekend...

Seriously, WTF?

Oh I'd honor the srike even if I was not being forced to. However I still reserve the right to be pissy about it.

It's to be fair to the people who have already missed their shows.

And to be fair to those of us who went just before the strike so we can continue to say "neener neener."

:D
