Say it with me: Ewwww!
|
That poor castle, the humiliating decorations it has had to endure.
|
What the F is this you ask? It's hideous, that what that is!!
|
Just think, our "decorating" is just getting started...
Are they gonna sell souvenir puke buckets on Main Street? |
Ewwwww...that's grotesque! :( Ugggggg-ly!!
|
I can see the symbolism point, in that Cinderlla's castle is a reflection of Disneyland's castle. I would guess that the castle is used as synecdoche, to represent how MK is a relection to it's DL counterpart. :)
EDIT: Why the heck did I use a literature term to decribe that? Must be too many essays. |
The Disney castles are wearing too much bling bling.
:D |
So, which castle gets the spinner rims?
Disneyland's already got the "underbody neon" for night |
Well, I'm in the minority as someone who doesn't mind the new lighting of the DL castle. Hate the railings though. I hope that they are at least close to being done adding crap. No matter what they add at this point, it will be too much.
And hey, at least we didn't get the big mirror! God-awful ugly, that thing is. Blech |
Looks like a spider attacked that castle.
|
WTF!!! Yuck!!!!
I wonder what the castles look like in France and in Japan? |
Well, the evening lighting isn't as bad as I expected given the discussion, but I'd rather it not quite play up the "cotton candy" pink. I do like the fluctuation of the light inside the window.
As far as the railings, enough already! Stop. And the mirror is hideous, though I'm guessing it's supposed to be the "magic" mirror. |
Eeek! When did that happen?
Speaking of the 50th, there's a celebration of sorts  getting underway at EPCOT. The France pavillion has banners dated 1992, that say that Disneyland Paris is part of the happiest celebration on earth, and the America pavillion has gold Disneyland's 50th banners. (I suspect something identical will be on Main street?) Let the stupid questions begin! "What does that say?" "Why does it say 1992?" "Can I get to Disneyland by monorail?" |
I dunno, doesn't bother me. It looks to me like the picture of the Disneyland Castle in the mirror is on one of those 3 sided panel thingies. I'll bet Paris and Tokyo are on the other two sides. The Florida Castle is huge, it seems to be able to support this kind of decoration. I don't like the Barbie railings on our Castle because the scale is wrong. Anne Hamburger's team is probably responsible, it just smacks of the cluelessness and lack of respect these people have regarding their source material.

Agggh! That's just horrid!! Who in the world thought that was a good idea?
