Love the Miss Modular one! That's one of my favorite Stereolab songs.

Ghoulish Delight 12-01-2007 12:01 PM

Yay! Your avatar/sig combos are always awesome. My favorite was the cropping you did with the Pepperminte Froste piece. :D

I believe that is Rian Hughes.
He was the artist I had pictures from last time I did the matching avatar and sig thing.
Here.

Ah. I have sigs and avatars turned off so I never see anybody's.

Five years ago I think I would have been all over these but I suspect they're falling into the same Shag burnout. "Miss Modular" is nice, though, even if she does have six fingers on her left hand.

His wife's work is pretty cool as well. Lynne Naylor.

I'm utterly inspired!! :D

Lynne's stuff reminds me a LOT of these, crossed with Chuck Jones. I think they're Marc Davis? Someone correct me.

Morrigoon 12-01-2007 04:44 PM

Really neat stuff!

RStar 12-01-2007 10:55 PM

I love it! Thanks! Why is this retro stuff so appealing? Back in the 70s I thought it looked tacky, but now it is really hip! :snap:

Oh, and to Alex's note: I count four fingers on miss mods left hand (I assume her thumb is hidden). There is a space where she is spread to a higher fret, that may look like an extra finger.
