I finally got walked off a ride....
It's been years and many trips to the Park, but I finally got walked off a ride today.....mind you it was a dark ride in Fantasyland....Pinnochio, but heck....FINALLY!!!!!
I'm just thrilled and had to share! |
cograts... the one and only attraction i have had the privilege of getting walked off was Tomorrowland Transit Authority at Magic Kingdom...
It must have been cool to see pinocchio |
A friend from Arizona took a bunch of pics....but he won't return until after the 1st. The CM let us take all kinds of photos and paused so we could take a group shot.
I think the CM's are taking "happy" pills lately, they are just having too much fun! |
Must be my luck...
I've been walked off: Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates (twice ;) ) plus Roger Rabbit and that's just in the last two visits..... |
Big Thunder 101s if I just breathe in the smokefilled air on Big Thunder trail...
|
Congrats!
Ah, I remember my first walk off ! It was Rocket Rods. I think I was walked off the attraction 4 times total. |
My first walkoff was horrible. Pirates of the Caribbean. Took about 20 minutes from the time things stopped to getting off the boat.
Unfortunately the only thing that stopped were the boats and we were right next to those three cats. The caterwauling cats. I suspect that it was worse than being stuck in Small World with the music on would be. |
I've been stuck many times, but Pirates (Sinking!) and Splash Mtn (At the top of the last hill) are my walk off hall of fame...
HOpe to see pics!!! |
I was going to be walked off IASW during the famous boat sinking at the lashbear meat, but other people got out before me and cruelly and heartlessly cruelled my chances of getting to see the backside of dollies. :p
|
I finally got walked off a ride.....
I was going to ask "What did you do that they threw you off the ride?" but then I read on.... ;)
Let's see.... I got walked off Splash Mnt, Space Mnt.(Got to use the old elevator!), People movers (That was cool walking on the track and on top of the skyway loading area!), and got stuck on Pirates going UP the waterfall for 20 minutes, but then they got us loose. Congrats on being inducted into the Hall of 101! |
Indy (got to see the array of subs in the bolder drop room), PotC, and BTMRR.
In case anyone cares. |

Pirates, twice! Almost capsized a IASW boat this last trip, at least it felt like it would roll over.
|
I've been walked out of Mr Toad's and POTC. We got taken out of the boats on IASW once; but it was outside the building, so it doesn't really count.

When my friends get back to Arizona they are supposed to e-mail me some, then I'll post a couple. |
In all the times I've been to the Park, the one time I've been walked off an attraction was Pirates, right after its movie-novelization. Truly an unpleasant experience. The boat I was in was between the island of skeletons, with the new music that makes me want to find whoever's in charge and beat them, and the storm sequence. After 20 minutes of sitting, listening to "please stay seated" announcements, and the worklights coming up, we were inched into the "Dead men tell no tales" cave, and unloaded. From this vantage point we could see and hear Davy Jones' blathering projection effect. Over and over and over and over. If you don't know that I hate the Pirates re-do, you do now. 45 minutes to walk us out of the attraction from this point. 45 hot, crowded, "why is this taking so long" minutes! Why? Because they're interviewing each and every single person they've unloaded before they let you out of the building! Everyone was given a "come back anytime today" pass for the ride, which was very nice, considering the Park was about to close.
When they do thing right, they're very very right, when they do things wrong, they're spectacularly wrong. Quote:

10 Electrovoice sub(woofer) speaker cabinets, each with four drivers (I don't recall if they are 15" or 18" |
I almost forgot! I got walked out of the Matterhorn once too!

The IASW incident happened to me probably five-or-six years ago, sitting next to BTD for about 15+ minutes while the ride was backed up. We were stuck at one of the loudest spots in the ride. No one came to save us. The ride was effectively ruined for me, and I shudder to consider riding that again. I've ridden it only three times (that I remember) since getting stuck... one of which was at the recent LoT swanking, and only because everyone else wanted to say goodbye before rehab. /puke It was, thankfully, made enjoyable by the ever-awesome Mousepod. |

It's horrible. I was stuck at a place where they couldn't walk us off..... for about 30 minutes. I've blacked out in my mind where it was, but there were big dropoffs to the left and right of the boat. No flat area to walk out on. The first 15-20 minutes of the music was torture. Then, thankfully, they turned off the music. It was just creepy with the dolls clicking, clacking and moving. When the ride started up again, they left the music off. At the end of the ride, there were cast members apologizing like crazy and handing out "Admit 4" Fastpasses. |

Yes, but I can't imagine hating an entire ride for something I will likely only hear only a couple of seconds every time I ride it when it's functioning properly. Everytime I ride IASW, I am reminded of being stuck as I listen to the song go on and on and on.
I should amend mine to read more like "everytime I ride IASW, it's like being stuck at the same point, even if the boat is moving.... because the ride sucks, and I regret going on it about half of the time." |
I have been walked off of Mr Toad...we were stuck in the entrance to Hell.
We were semi-stuck on Small World, but the 2 boats in front of us took it upon themselves to push us backwards out of the ride. |
It's a world of laughter, a world or tears
its a world of hopes, its a world of fear theres so much that we share that its time we're aware its a small world after all CHORUS: its a small world after all its a small world after all its a small world after all its a small, small world There is just one moon and one golden sun And a smile means friendship to everyone. Though the mountains divide And the oceans are wide It's a small small world You're welcome. :D |
Just what I needed to see first thing New Year's Day.....
|
We only had music in the first room, which took 20 minutes to get through. The music went off at that point and we crawled through the next 2 rooms to the clicking and clacking of the dolls. We hit the blockage at the end of the 3rd room and at that point the other boats started pushing us backwards. The only thing that stuck in our heads was the thoughts that the people in front of us were a bunch of idiots.
|
Got pics today e-mailed to me....will post tomorrow.
|
I've been walked off of lots of different rides, but this New Year's Day, while on our annual hunt for beer cans, I threw up in the water of Small World Holiday.
|
Well, you have just beat zapppop's puking in Dancing Waters ... but he still holds the record for throwing up in the middle of Main Street during fireworks ... and then having thousands of people walk right through it during the ensuing mass Park exodus.
* * * * * It's all a matter of taste, of course ... but I don't get people who think that it's a small world after all is the same song for 17 minutes. It WAS the same song during the decade after Disneyland Paris opened, but years ago was blessedly restored to the incredibly variated, musically brilliant, world culture tour of globetrotting sound styles featuring the same melody that was famously created at the height of Disney orchestration greatness in the early 60's. Sheesh. * * * * My fave walk-off: The Matterhorn. Running out to the promontory point high above Small World Mall against CMs' direct orders, seeing the tiny basketball courtlette at last, and walking down the dingy starcases through a scaffolded labyrinth were fantastic. Least fave walk-off: The Peoplemover - which stopped about 30 yards from the station on the approach down the main Tomorrowland entryway. We had to WAIT more than half an hour for all the other guests to make their dramatic and thrilling track walk until they got all the way to us ... whereupon we walked the final 30 yards on the widest portion of the trackway. It was neat ... but also frustratingly close to the ULTIMATE Walk-Off Experience that we missed by riding 3 minutes early! Bah. |
Here's the promised pics.....

Blue fairy looks interesting... then again in the right light and speed it looks perfect.... normal light and stagnant, well... interesting.
great photos! |
This was my first walk off as well Wolffy. The other was Space (not a walk off)and POTC.
I found out they were actually training new Castmembers that day for most of Fantasyland. |
