...It's cold.

I keep putting my sweatshirt on, and then taking it off because temps are just at that point where you can't be comfortable either way. But mostly... it's cold. :p

(I know you were hoping for something relating to Monty Python, so here you go. And when you're done with that, you might try this amusing take on it.)

Gemini Cricket 01-21-2008 03:51 PM

Are you drinking enough water?
Sometimes when you're dehydrated, it feels colder than it really is...

MouseWife 01-21-2008 04:02 PM

Thanks, GC. I did not know that.

Disneyphile 01-21-2008 05:21 PM

I'm sitting next to my HeatDish. :p

It's colder at my parents than it is here and i was freezing earlier but then i am warm as warm can be at the moment. Maybe cuz i was cleaning out the bedroom thus moving around getting warmer than sitting here on the couch freezing.

I wouldn't complain when i talked to my mom at 11am this morning it was 38 degrees. They are expecting snow quite possibly even the news has said it for their area. So cold isn't cold. Plus this is California imagine if you were on the East Coast or Midwest. My friend in Minnesotta it was has been -10 below and that is very COLD.

When i go to my parents i am freezing. Not used to it being so cold. Used to it warmer.

sleepyjeff 01-21-2008 05:51 PM

It's so cold up here we're actually hoping for the warmth of snow....I kid you not.

I am imagining it... I'll be passing through the midwest in a couple days. Brrrr!

So, what, nobody's viewed the scambaiter-produced Nigerian version of the Parrot Sketch yet?

blueerica 01-21-2008 05:59 PM

LOL Sleepyjeff! I know the feeling.

Though it's been snowy out here, the snow makes it warmer than usual at least. I don't know if I mentioned it, but my local friend says it hasn't been this snowy in Northern Utah since she was a kid, since the snow usually just stays up in the mountains.

The drive to my job interview was interesting. Lots of huge accidents and people in ditches. Lots of black ice, too. :-/

I am looking forward to the warmth of spring.

Prudence 01-21-2008 06:06 PM

I think the high here today is 33. Low tonight expected to be around 20 or lower.

CoasterMatt 01-21-2008 06:06 PM

I wore shorts to work today, ya big babies.

Morrigoon 01-21-2008 06:15 PM

Yeah, well you're up in the Valley, where it's always 10 degrees hotter! I'll laugh back this summer pbbbbbbbt!

wendybeth 01-21-2008 06:17 PM

It's arctic cold up here. I'd trade you in a heartbeat.

scaeagles 01-21-2008 06:19 PM

Today it was a lovely 64 in Phoenix. Before dinner I was outside in shorts and a t-shirt throwing a football with my son, then I turned on the BarB and grilled up some fine new yorks with an exquisite marinade of olive oil, soy sauce, and a mixture of various spices.

It will be around 35 for an overnight low. That's cold.

Prudence 01-21-2008 06:25 PM

Things I love when it's cold: there's a very short furnace vent right under the kitchen sink cabinet. So if you're doing dishes, it blows right on your toesies!

katiesue 01-21-2008 06:38 PM

I've got a lovely fire going - ahhhhhh.

Gemini Cricket 01-21-2008 06:46 PM

It was 80 degrees F in Hawai'i...

I'm just saying, is all...

Stan4dSteph 01-21-2008 08:17 PM

Current temperature = 15 F

CoasterMatt 01-21-2008 08:27 PM

Current temperature = TOASTY...

I love having an overclocked computer's exhaust flowing over my toes :)

€uroMeinke 01-21-2008 10:44 PM

We had the pool up to 95

wendybeth 01-22-2008 12:54 AM

It's currently 10 degrees outside. I hate winter- have I mentioned that? I was booking our hotel and stuff today for our April trip, and it really can't come too soon. It was awful the other day; we had several inches of snow overnight, then a windstorm hit the next day that dropped temps to well below 0 degrees.

CoasterMatt 01-22-2008 12:58 AM

BTW, If you even THINK of harassing me on your trip, I've got PLENTY of friends on the staff at the hotel you'll be staying at

Alex 01-22-2008 07:39 AM

I miss the cold. Except when travelling I haven't really experienced cold in 12 years now (of course, people around here like to think it is cold every once in a while but they are just sissies).

Snowflake 01-22-2008 07:45 AM

Snow overnight in parts of the Bay Area. Highway 17 has snow (and I think is closed) and snow on Mt. Hamilton. So the Bay Area got a taste and it was very chilly in the city last night. 30-ish and I slept with my window open, and slept great, it was lovely!

RStar 01-22-2008 08:04 AM

Yes, the South African Scammer Dead Parot skit was amusing. Poorly executed, but funny that they got roped into sending in a video. Of course they can now be identified.....:D

Brigitte 01-22-2008 08:17 AM

It's currently -2 on my backyard thermometer, but that's a heat wave, yesterday at this time it was -5. WB's right, last weekend was awful, I can only keep reminding myself that in 45 days it'll all be over.

I hate the cold and vowed after living in Flagstaff for 6 years that I would never live in the cold again.

May I ask why, if you hate it so much, you live there? Ever thought of moving to a warmer climate?

Chernabog 01-22-2008 08:28 AM

Yeah, and when it's 120 degrees this summer and you feel that sweat pouring from your forehead and your arse-crack, and you're still hot with all your clothes off, you'll think back fondly on today's glorious cold weather...

scaeagles 01-22-2008 08:49 AM

Nope. Not a chance. I despise cold and would take 110 (120 has happened once since I've lived in Phoenix - that's 16 years now) over 32 any freaking day.

Because it's only cold for a few months, and the rest of the time it's beautiful. Not too many people, lots of lakes and mountains and forests, and best of all........ NO COCKROACHES!

And I'll take the much more consistent climate of Southern California over both of those temperatures. Even with the smog, traffic, and outrageous housing costs.

Morrigoon 01-22-2008 10:46 AM

So what's the weather like in Flagstaff this time of year, oh voice-of-experience?

scaeagles 01-22-2008 11:01 AM

Freakin' nasty.

It isn't the air temp that kills you - you'll have days where the temp stays below 20 for the high, but it's typically in the 30s or 40s - it's the flippin wind blowing off the San Francisco peaks, causing wind chills to dip well below 0. Ick.

Edited to add: I just decided to check the weather there. Brrr....lows are within a couple degrees of zero in the forecast. Add the wind to that....wow. That sucks.

Alex 01-22-2008 11:05 AM

Man I miss seasons. But if I had to live somewhere without them, I'd take Seattle autumn on a permanent basis over Los Angeles at any time of the year. I'm definitely retiring northward.

But a couple months of weather that lets you know the world hates us is life affirming.

My aren't we people different.

Gemini Cricket 01-22-2008 11:15 AM

I enjoyed experiencing 3 of the seasons in Boston.
Winter and I didn't bond.

BarTopDancer 01-22-2008 11:52 AM

Southern California has seasons:

Fire
Flood/mudslide
Earthquake
Riot

blueerica 01-22-2008 12:07 PM
