Are the internets broken?
We have been experiencing delays with emails all day (3-6 hours). We called our email service (Go Daddy) to inquire. They said that several ISPs are experiencing delays because of down trunk lines.
Anybody heard anything about this? Or is this just a lame excuse by Go Daddy? |
I'm not, nor is our company.
Have you sent a test from your email to a another ISP? |
I've been having issues all day.
|
BT claims he sent me an email hours ago that I've not yet received.

Google was not available. The world is ending!

I'm probably revealing my ignorance, but might this be related to the Blackberry outages? Speaking of, have they figured out what the cause is in that area?
|
Those cable cuts are catching up it seem - conspiracy theory my eye
|
Maybe the Anonymous movement to do in Scientology is involved.
(They did say they were going after them via technology.....) |
WB - BB outages were with the BB servers.
Maybe the email outages are due to the weather on the east coast? |
I have no idea, but teh intrawebs seem really extra double-slow tonight for me... Well, mostly my gmails, but I've noticed a major slowdown.
Interesting. |
You can check the Internet Traffic Report to see if there are any major outages in the offering.
It won't help your email issue, but you might also try switching to Open DNS. I did that awhile back and noticed a significant overall decrease in website load times. |
Check DSLReports.com - they're really good about updating internet wide issues, as well as ISP specific ones.

Huh. My pirated WiFi has been working just fine. Maybe it's just affecting all you old schoolers who pay for access.
|
I dunno, I thought it was the weirdest thing... I could see my gmail flickering back and forth from service to nothing.
Then again, I was also having issues with my TV giving me background music but no VOICES on certain television programs in HD. *cry* |

However, my brain is nowhere near high definition, so I don't know... |

Another question is: are you using a cable/satellite receiver for your HD? The receiver may be faulty. If the quick check above loses voice audio through the TV, then I would suspect a faulty receiver - it is not decoding the signal properly. |
Um, I dunno... I never had any other problems with any other station or show. It seemed like a one-time thing. I don't have an audio system. Just cable box and HDTV. Didn't have any problems with other channels during the show.. just for Jericho.
It was weird, but I'm generally not worried about it. I should have been more specific that the TV seems to have super nice sound quality, and since I can sense cars zooming in one direction or another just by sound, I figured it had some stereo-like properties. Oh, and I thought it was funny in tandem with my flickering gmail and intrawebs issues. Nothing more, nothing since. |
