Spring Wishlist

What clothing/shoes do you covet?

Oh my darlings, how I want you.

Your turn!

Deebs 02-21-2008 10:39 AM

Precious pumps!

I can't join in yet/right now. Nothing material I covet at the moment.

Gimme a little time though, and I'll watch this thread. Maybe I'll get some ideas or end up coveting what you covet?

blueerica 02-21-2008 10:40 AM

Didn't see any that really 'took me' - but I liked these from a quick browsing of the website you linked to:

This pair..

and

... this pair.

I'm still stoked about my latest shoe purchase... hopefully I can find it online...

OOoh! Found them! I got the black-multi (the one with the flowers on it).

I also just saw these, which I covet... I think I prefer the fuschia and the bright red.

When shall I expect them at my doorstep? ;)

Shut up, that is a gorgeous shoe! Oh yes, yes, yes. I neeeeed that shoe in my life.

katiesue 02-21-2008 10:56 AM

I can't decide if I want the green or the yellow in These. I of course would need the matching handbag but I can't find a photo of it.

I love These But there's no way they're comfy. Same with these.

Not Afraid 02-21-2008 11:02 AM

It's the time of year when I look for cute shoes and get frustrated because all Wide shoes are fugly. Again, I should become a shoe designer.

Capt Jack 02-21-2008 11:09 AM

hmm....I have an extensive spring wishlist that does not however include clothing of anykind.

/shrug

blueerica 02-21-2008 11:21 AM

I hear that, CJ. I'd love more shoes, but two more shelves, a daybed or futon, a shredder and a filing cabinet must come first.

Le sigh...

Moonliner 02-21-2008 11:22 AM

yeah, the only seasonal thing I purchase is Claritin.

BDBopper 02-21-2008 11:28 AM

Since you are asking I have something in mind very special. It may be difficult to have done. However it is something that I have thought about for a long time.

When I was in High School I earned an Academic letter. I have it in a very special place in my room. Unlike most other people who earned a letter in school I didn't go right away and put it on a jacket. Everyone was doing that. I was the retro guy that I am today. What I really wanted was a sweater instead like back in the 50's. So if there is any piece of clothing I desire it would be a letterman's sweater with my letter stitched on it.

But enough waxing nostalgic. Back to reality!

ebay has some. I think you should go for it, BDBopper.

BTW, is your screenname in honor of the Big Bopper?

Yes. With my initials in the front.

You know you can still get sweaters... and chances are, even in the colors you need/want.

BDBopper 02-21-2008 12:05 PM

Sweetness! My letter is orange. It's more cursive than a block varsity letter. Just giving you an idea of what it looks like.

Snowflake 02-21-2008 12:13 PM

3894, bee-YOU-ti-ful shoes!

I can't wear em, however, I'm looking at these which I think (for me) are pretty cute.

Of course, I also want this, not girly at all, but I do want it

You should come visit us! We just got an AQUOS.

I have been admiring this outfit:
black cowl-neck sweater dress
and retro turquoise shoes

I love Torrid! Gotta stay away from that place, heh.

I almost never wear jewelry, but if I did, I'd probably get this: http://www.torrid.com/torrid/store/p...=1203629581872

Morrigoon 02-21-2008 02:39 PM

Oooh, not that one needs much formalwear in one's 30's, but if I did, I'd get this:

Why does it have a pull-tab at the bottom? I must say I'm intrigued.

Kevy Baby 02-21-2008 04:10 PM

I just purchased two new pairs of slacks (due from the tailor on Friday), a new belt, two new shorts and two new pairs of shoes (one casual and one hiking). When I pick up my slacks on Friday, I am going to pick up some socks. That should keep me set for a while.

€uroMeinke 02-21-2008 07:54 PM

Perhaps now I can find the linen sport coat I've been searching for. I could use some new jeans as well.

Try Men's Warehouse. If I recall correctly, they had a few in there.

Prudence 02-28-2008 05:32 PM

I had another Zappo's spree and have a box of shoes to try on already. But these appeared on the website while I was off being smart and I must now get them:

I dont need MORE shoes.... I have a zillion. But god those are cute.

Not Afraid 03-03-2008 06:20 PM

Oh HELEN........ Calling HELEN........

Look what I bought today (in Ferrari RED)

€uroMeinke 03-03-2008 07:42 PM

At the United Trminal at LAX the plastic buckets TSD folks make you put your shoes and personal items in now have paper liners advertising Zappos - I call that brilliant marketing on their part

innerSpaceman 03-03-2008 09:05 PM

OMG, foiled twice today by Zappos. No color/size combo of my needs in the two pairs that winked at me.

This is the first time the internet has let me down with shoes. I am crestfallen. It's been decades since brick & mortar ever carried shoes my size, and now even the internet has forsaken me.

:(

The Perfect Easter Basket Well at least for a Reese's lover like I am! LOL

Not Afraid 03-04-2008 09:38 AM

The next thing I'm going to look for is a pair of dark wash, wide leg jeans.

Sniff, sniff. I ordered both, but a week later I got word that they didn't actually have the shoes in my size!

Not Afraid 03-04-2008 10:06 AM

Oh, I also havae my eye on a pair of charcoal Converse. Why I've decided I need Converse now is beyond me.

€uroMeinke 03-04-2008 06:20 PM

If I keep going back east I think I will need a real overcoat

Not Afraid 03-04-2008 08:06 PM

If you keep going back east, I'm going to need a real job!

I Heart Disneyland 03-05-2008 09:59 PM

I think I NEED a new Coach bag!

LSPoorEeyorick 03-26-2008 01:34 PM

OMG, this red, retro plus-sized girlie bowling shirt is embroidered with "LS" - I think someone must have MADE IT FOR ME!

katiesue 03-26-2008 01:35 PM

That's so cute!

Buy it!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 03-26-2008 03:47 PM

Possibly NWS, since these are modeled, but there isn't any nudity.

Corsets. I want corsets.

And damn you Fleuevog, for I cannot afford you, or you. Or YOU! Bastard expensive shoes.

LSPoorEeyorick 03-26-2008 04:14 PM

Dude, there's a custom-made corset shop just down the road from us, right now!

I bought myself one recently prior to going to New York. Mulled over the pure cashmere ones in SF. If a nanosecond of yearning can be called mulling. Ultimately got a Calvin Klein wool/cashmere/petrochemical blend at the Saks outlet in Petaluma. 150 down from 500, less another 40 for opening a Saks charge. I felt pretty east coat wearing it. Sadly, it wasn't cold enough for a furry hat with ear flaps.

Corsets good.

blueerica 04-21-2008 10:23 AM

OK, seriously...

The covet meter is off the chart, so I will have to continue looking later, lest I forget all the work I should be doing.

/drool.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-13-2008 12:42 PM

I found a new (and incredibly cheap) plus-sized clothing source. It came highly recommended from a blogger I like. And I am in fashion LUST.

If I wanted, I could actually get all of these for under a C-note, minus shipping.

3894 08-13-2008 01:21 PM

Just to state the obvious ...

Then they must be made by underaged serfs working for 50 cents a week. There are many hours of labor in those clothes.

They are massively adorable, though.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-13-2008 01:25 PM

Oh, I know. And I'd pay more for them if I could find them anywhere. I suspect they're not particularly made to last, actually... they're on crazy wholesale from the company that makes them, and deals directly through e-bay. Shipping's pricey, though.

3894 08-13-2008 01:32 PM

I'm a little iffy on all those gathers on the back waist of the green coat. Otherwise, very Miu Miu and pretty. Those chiffon dresses are just made for cute flats.

Are you getting them?

LSPoorEeyorick 08-13-2008 02:07 PM

I think all that is holding me back is the concern about price being too low. That's an unusual thing to complain about, isn't it?

BarTopDancer 08-13-2008 02:36 PM

If it's to good to be true, it probably is.

That said, they could be jacking up the shipping with lower costs in the auction to circumvent eBay's pricing rules (which is against eBay policies).

How is the feedback?

Not Afraid 08-14-2008 08:34 AM

Very pretty! I'd have a hard time resisting.

It might be time for a Fall Wishlist thread. I've been getting catalogs featuring luscious fall clothing. Too bad I won't be wearing sweaters for another 4 months.

LSPoorEeyorick 08-20-2008 02:59 PM

Feedback is great, and after bidding and shipping, the price is entirely reasonable for the pieces (not too low, not too high.) So I got four of them - the two darker jackets and the two dresses. Now I'm just waiting for them to arrive, sigh.
