Pictures from My New Camera

Here's the pictures from my new camera - http://picasaweb.google.com/CoasterMatt/MyNewCamera

There's plenty of different pics from Disneyland, including some people you may recognize.

I also took some fireworks pics last night (not that great- we were on the esplanade, and I was really tired)

I think I will have a new desktop image soon

CoasterMatt 04-07-2008 01:38 PM

I'm using the pic of Space Mountain (entitled 'Paint Please') as my desktop

katiesue 04-07-2008 01:42 PM

Nice pix!!

Kevy Baby 04-07-2008 01:44 PM

So what IS the new camera?

BarTopDancer 04-07-2008 01:45 PM

Did you find a battery pack?

Ghoulish Delight 04-07-2008 01:47 PM

Now you can drool over the same lens I do. :D

Nikon D40. Identical to my Nikon D40X save for megapixels (6.1MP vs. 10.2 on the X). Fantastic cameras both.

So.....jealous. How much did you spend for it, may I ask? And which kit lens(es) did you have? I got the kit with the 18-55 and the 55-200, neither with VR.

CoasterMatt 04-07-2008 01:54 PM

DOH!!

Sorry, I misread that - I have this one on order.
The lowest price I've seen for the 18-200 VR was around $520 - maybe if Rose goes to see Bon Jovi in Chicago this summer... ;)

Ghoulish Delight 04-07-2008 02:01 PM

Yeah, the 55-200 is my second choice. But damn it'd be nice to not have to switch lenses.

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 04-07-2008 02:07 PM

Yay new camera! Thanks for sharing the pics.

BDBopper 04-07-2008 02:16 PM

Congrats on the new camera. Nice pics! The best thing I love about seeing these awesome Disneyland pictures is the detail that I could never see with my naked eye (let alone with glasses on). Thanks for sharing!

Gemini Cricket 04-07-2008 02:25 PM

Thar be some great pics in there, thar be.
Congrats on the new cam. Nice pics.
:)

LSPoorEeyorick 04-07-2008 02:27 PM

Dude, I LOVE the D40! We have one too and it's outta sight. Lovely new batch of pics!

DreadPirateRoberts 04-07-2008 02:48 PM

nice!

Alex 04-07-2008 02:53 PM

Well...if you're going to settle for Nikon I suppose that's a good one.

(That's just empty trash talking; I'm a Canon person and am working hard to convince myself to upgrade to the 5D prior to our Europe trip this fall rather than just the 40D. Actually I like the Nikons a lot, I just don't want to have to get new glass -- not that I have a lot, I just don't want to replace it.)

Not Afraid 04-07-2008 04:41 PM

Very cool pix.

The Guiness shot helped you find an electronics store? Sweet!

And you're welcome!

BTD we did went to Fry's Sat afternoon to get him his battery and some more blank discs to burn my pics and video onto...let me say you missed a better show on Saturday night. I got more Jon interaction not on the side stage just from my seat...10th row right side isle seat near center section...a bit more pictures and video as well...lol Jon was in a much better mood on Sat night and even said so...

NickO'Time 04-07-2008 10:34 PM

Thanks for the photos Matt, the parks look great. Loved them all.
Congratulations on the new camera! :snap:

Kevy Baby 04-08-2008 09:40 AM

So how many nekked pictures of your wife have you taken?

CoasterMatt 04-08-2008 10:06 AM

One thing that I'd like to point out about all of the pictures I've posted so far - I didn't use any manual setup- they were all taken with the auto programs, I haven't even started the really creative stuff. :)

It's like a kickass point and shoot - with the ability to go manual when I need (or just want) to.
