Saying Goodbye to Gus:(
 

I fell in love with Pugs when I fell in love with Gus. Gus is a handsome, 26 pound fawn guy who stole my heart, snored in my ear when I spent the night, and caused me to love pugs more than any other dog on the planet. I've walked Gus and his 2 shihtzu's 5 days a week for the past three years and, whenever the Moms went out of town, I spent nights with them too.

Gus' Mommies are moving to DC and today was my very last walk with Gus.

He knew I was sad and upset. He immediately made me sit on the couch so he could sit on my lap and he licked my tears off my face as I cried. I thanked him for pugging me and told him if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have my boy Thurston today. He put his big lovely head on my shoulder and sighed.

GAH! I'm going to miss Gus so much. He was my first puggie love, and he'll always be special to me.

I'm sorry to hear this.

Matthew and I lived for a year with one of my best friends and grew enormously attached to his golden retriever, Peanut. When we moved out, it broke our hearts to leave her.

I'm glad though that at least Thurston is there with you.

Awwww I had the pleasure of a Gus visit (complete with chocolate and charcoal) last year.... such an adorable doggie. And I know you love him! ((hugs to NA)) What adorable pics!!!

Wow! Gus is some powerful cute! Since he's going to DC, we should write him in as a surprise presidential candidate. Bet he could win.

I was worried when I read the title of the thread that something happened to little Gus, so while I'm sorry that you'll miss him, I'm relieved that the news is that he's moving.

Of all the places to go, I'm glad he's moving to DC. We need someone there to shake things up a bit, and a pug might just be the man to do it.

Sorry for the heartbreaking news. I suspect that Thurston will be getting a little extra loving to make up for it.

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to disturb anyone. If Gus had died, I would be more of a mess than i already am. But, there's not way to gauge that on line.

Gus is healthy and happy, but not cuddling with me any more. :(

Was that gus I saw when you pulled up as I was loading bricks? I wanted to say hi to him but was in a hurry. I'm bummed now cause he moved away!

No, the puppy that was with me is my Thurston Howl. He's the darker pug in the pictures. Gus inspired me to get Thurston.

They have the best little dog faces!
