Happy Arbor Day!

Anybody planting a tree?

Alex 04-25-2008 11:19 AM

I'm not.

In fact, if anybody I know has ever actually planted a tree for Arbor Day I've been unaware of it.

scaeagles 04-25-2008 11:20 AM

I went to Home Depot and bought some lumber.

Ah, Arbor Day. Today always reminds me of It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown. It's my second favorite Peanuts Special right behind It's Casimir Pulaski Day Again, Charlie Brown.

Tref 04-25-2008 11:50 AM

I say we make this the best Arbor day ever!

scaeagles 04-25-2008 12:12 PM

Trees? I thought this day was about when all the shipd go sailing into the arbor.

Did you pick up some imported wood from the Home Depot parking lot again?

You know scaeagles: he'll take his wood from anywhere.

scaeagles 04-25-2008 12:53 PM

Once you've got your wood from MBC's lot, anything else seems like premium cut lumber.

Morrigoon 04-25-2008 01:09 PM

ouch, harsh

Gemini Cricket 04-25-2008 01:10 PM

Let's all watch the Treebeard scenes from Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in honor of Arbor Day. I say we all join hands and sway... in the wind.

Kevy Baby 04-25-2008 01:31 PM

How about the show Men in Trees? Is that still on?

I haven't been able to read any of Cherny's posts in the last couple of days. I am too distracted by his avatar that looks like it is giving a BJ.

I know what Kevy means. It looks like a cartoon blow-up doll!

Hahah all of the Miis look like that. There's this thing the "Mii Channel" on your Wii (ok, now that DID sound dirty) in which you can create an avatar to use in various games. So naturally people create celebrity Miis, or Miis of their friends. But they all look similar, with big heads on strange stylized shafts... errrr... bodies.

Maybe if it had a different expression...

Great Caesars salad! Arbor day is almost half over and I have done nothing! Another wasted Arbor day!

Morrigoon 04-25-2008 04:24 PM

Pffft. First you waste Earth Day, then Arbor Day. What do you live for, man?

Columbus Day!

Kevy Baby 04-25-2008 04:41 PM

And I never understood why we have a special day for these things anyways:

Morrigoon 04-25-2008 04:44 PM

click pens? or exotic mufflers?

tracilicious 04-25-2008 06:36 PM

Every vibrator needs a special day.

Oh, you're just pissed that it wouldn't fit in your truck.

Although, it fit elsewhere just fine. Imagine that.

Um... they're arbors

Wow, another Arbor day come and gone, just like that -- (dramatically snaps finger)

It seems I was just getting used to that special Arbor "feeling" when, just as quickly as it had appeared, it past. The end. Finished. Finis. Just like that -- (dramatically blows upon palm)

Now I am alone. Alone, with only the thoughts of my Arbor adventures to keep me company and a snootful of whiskey to keep me warm. Nevertheless, I still have the Arbor Day tree I cut down from the field behind my building. And its still covered in lights and tinsel in honor of trees everywhere. We gots to save 'em, folks. Someday they will be all gone. Just like that -- (dramatically kicks backside of sleeping hobo, then after rifling through pockets, dramatically runs away)

Happy Arbor Day!
