Carly Simon, "I don't consider myself to be not gay."
 

The Bay Area Reporter has an interesting interview with Carly Simon. (especially the last two questions) I had never heard of this aspect of her personality. Am I just totally out of touch or is this news to y'all as well?

News to me.

Well, in her elusive way, she is not saying that she is gay. It is just the kind of nebulous answer that could have easily been given by a straight person who doesn't really give a rip what people think about their sexuality.

Or she just may be a carpet muncher.

Oh, I think she definitely IS saying she's not a 0 on the Kinsey scale. She's just saying it a way so as to obfuscate her words from dolts. You know, didn't you ever play the "not" game? "I'm not not going to sleep at my friend's house tonight..."

But, you know, there are a lot of people who aren't a 0 on the Kinsey scale, but not, you know, consistently or exclusively "gay enough" to merit a coming-out-of-closet.

Carly, I bet you think this thread is about you. Don't you? Don't you?

now, i'm singing "your so vain" with the lyrics changed to "you're so gay".

Yeah, I'm sure Jay Leno will be singing that one eventually...

Frodo ate my fish Wanda. I was thinking of renaming him Otto. I was looking and looking for an angelfish that I had in Boston. She disappeared. No trace. Then one day, I'm fishing out a dead guppy and Frodo races to my feet, sits politely and licks his chops. Mmmm, dead fish smell. Frodo ate Wanda after she leapt from the tank... there is no other explaination.

i bought 4 new cardinal tetras on wednesday. on thursday, there were 3. today there are only 2. my original tetra is sill there. no trace of them at all.

Maybe your first tetra became a canibal. Otherwise I suspect the cats also as others have said. Of course we had a fish who would jump out of the tank, so you just never know.

well, if we have selfish and suicidal fish, then they deserve to be cat food. I just don't want them poisoning my tank with their carcass.

I think someone (Calliope) is eating your fish. If the fish were eating each other, there would be fish remains all over the place. I think a cat (Calliope) is taking them out of the water by the filter at the back of your (Lisa's) tank.

i lost the beta today and all of the tetras are missing.

nope. i went to the fish store today and got my water tested. it was perfect. even the fish store guru (the owner, not your boyfriend) was stumped. tetras are difficult, so it may just be something that was brought in with the additional tetras. but, i got 2 new fish - a beautiful orange guorami and an albino bushynose plecostomas. he look like charles and charles likes him so we named him charliefish. the fish guru will cal me when he gets more cardinal tetras in. meanwhile, i'm going to do another water change because of the 2 new fish additions.

i should name one of my fish carley just to keep the thread focused. ;)
