campers: new post count game

a little game for the swank campers.

what is your estimate for how many new posts will be on YOUR screen upon your return? keep in mind that a good portion of the high volume poster folks will be at the campsite...

Im in for 255.

Kevy Baby 06-03-2008 05:12 PM

I'm a little more optimistic, especially with Stoat on a roll.

Put me down for 400

Im in for 255.

You aren't counting sporadic high-volume posters like The Stoat (on behalf of SusieAnne Krellingshaw, aged 11.5 of Arkansas - see Stoat Art thread re wireless electricity transmission).

Oh...and Bear, are we there yet? This pond is bigger than I thought - and I want some bacon food meat.

Besides, 256 is more binary...and here's some more posts:

Dear EuroMeinke,

Does the chart have to be made out of pies...couldn't it be made out of burritos or incontinence pads???

A little artistic license goes a long way you know.

Hugs,

The Stoat.

innerSpaceman 06-04-2008 01:19 PM

By the way, my guess above of 99 posts while the campers are away was my prediction for how many by Stoat, not how many total.

Chernabog 06-04-2008 01:38 PM

haha ok those of us not going, who do we like best to win this bet?

JWBear 06-04-2008 03:27 PM

I think each of us should take on the persona of the LoTers who are away at camp.

"I'm going to have to bid one dollar, Bob."

I'm guessing an even 500 new posts.

I'm also guessing that the Stoat couldn't find Arkansas on a map.

Quiz for the Stoat:

Which US President is from Arkansas?

How do you pronounce Arkansas?

Is Arkansas a city, state, county, township, Indian reservation, or a skin disease?

Were the settlers of Arkansas really that unimaginative, that they just added AAARRR to Kansas, and changed the pronunciation of Kansas? Really? Like seriously, WTF?

Is Miss Krellingshaw of British descent? UK definitely, right? How many freakin Krellingshaws are you going to have in Arkansas?

Dear Ms. Pallor...

"I'm going to have to bid one dollar, Bob."

>>Is that Bob Eubanks or Bob Downe?

I'm guessing an even 500 new posts.

>>Be careful what you wish for, Ms. Pallor.

I'm also guessing that the Stoat couldn't find Arkansas on a map.

>>See map, below.

Quiz for the Stoat:

Which US President is from Arkansas?

>>Do you mean Arkansas the State or Arkansas the City? (refer to map below)

How do you pronounce Arkansas?

>>Dead on arrival? Husband and wife? Taken in the name of the Planet Mars?

Is Arkansas a city, state, county, township, Indian reservation, or a skin disease?

>>Yes

Were the settlers of Arkansas really that unimaginative, that they just added AAARRR to Kansas, and changed the pronunciation of Kansas? Really? Like seriously, WTF?

>>Yes. They were pirates (from the Caribbean).

Is Miss Krellingshaw of British descent? UK definitely, right? How many freakin Krellingshaws are you going to have in Arkansas?

>>Well, Mary Poppins is her mother’s sister’s brother’s cousin’s Aunt twice removed. For vagrancy. And, SusieAnne is currently studying "Human Cloning and Floral Arrangement" at the Arkansas Heights lower junior school. There are said to be at least 42 SusieAnne clones lying about in petrie dishes as we speak.

I hope that answers your questions. Smooch.

Dear Disneyphile,

I would be most honoured if you were to take some of my art and/or stories to share with our friends. Particularly "The remote Thurston in a box cooler" and "The Arkansas Map" above.

Have a laugh around the campfire for me and the LashBear, and think of us whilst we are still swimming across the big wet bit.

LashStoat 06-07-2008 07:21 AM

Dear WendyBeth,

Why are all these folks talking about "Pancakes" ?

I like pancakes just as much as they do...it's not fair. They get to have lots of pancakes and all I get is soggy bacon and a shark biting my butt.

And no ukelele.

Grumpily and pancake-less, somewhere off "HavaLayonUkanPayi" island.

Dear Stoat,

I'm surprised you haven't filed your swim plan with the LoT. How else are we to ensure your safe arrival in Kings Canyon if you don't share your plan?

We wouldn't want you to bump into other swimmers out there on your journey--or worse, smack someone in the head with your hot frying pan full of bacon (would you want to be hit with another swimmer's bacon grease?). Don't forget that there are additional dangers that you need to be aware of: sea monsters, mermaids, pirates, and all those silly boats.

Please file your swim plan as soon as possible.

Thank you,
The LoT STC (Swim Traffic Control)

Dear Ms. Matterhorn Fan,

You are quite right - we are remiss in not filing a swim plan, particularly after it took us several months of planning to create same.

So here it is - and be warned - it's copyright.

lashbear 06-07-2008 08:26 PM

Dear Belleh5,

I know you aren't going to believe me, but I have actually been in the open ocean with sharks and no cage. That includes Grey Nurses (off the coast off NSW, Australia), Mako in Fiji, and one compact-car size Great White, also off the NSW Coast - and kid I wasn't a bit worried following the anchor rope from 120 feet (around 40 metres) with that SOB down there !!!

The first open water dive I did after being qualified was like diving in a green glad bag - didn't know I'd reached the bottom until I hit my head on it !!!

So I'm not overly worried about sharks. The people I work with are more scary. LOL.

I don't know if I should say smooch or hugs - if you're a bloke, just remember I've swum with sharks, maaate.

The Stoat.
