The LashPair Tour - Hearst Castle Portion
So it doesn't get more lost in the Yosemite thread.
Discuss the Hearst Castle portion here. Can some super cool Mod sticky this so it's easy to find? |
Woo hoo!
Some folks have already rented accomodations for the Hearst days - but I'd really like to be part of this, so I'm willing to do research for another portion of us who'd like to stay in the area too. Anybody want to join in with Tom and I? |
Thread stuck, but can it be official that I am totally bitter about this?
Signed, Bitter Rocky Mountainer |
Thank you super cool mod!
|
Yes, I want to join in on the Hearst Fun!
I really want zapppop to come along. He's so interested in architecture. But if he does, we'll need to arrive a day early or something ... because he (and anyone who hasn't been there before) should take the 2 tours the Lashpair already took last time. Oh, and who's going to start the separate thread about the LashPair's third Thursday in the States? And we'll also need one for the second Wednesday afternoon. :p |
Oh Yay! Heidi & Tom (BtD, you too? Yay!)
This is going to be a week to remember! |
Bitter.
Wait, when is this? |
February 2012, I think.

Be bitter no more, join us! |
I may be able to swing this one. I'll have to see what the budge is like, pending the purchase of a home...

I think I have the answer, all of this would just be less complicated if the Lashpair would just upit and move to the USA already. Then we would not have 637 different travel threads. |

Also, finances are pretty tight too with the rising cost of everything. |
We're staying in a beach bungalow a on Moonstone Beach.

I've been to Butchart Gardens!
I went there when I went to Vancouver in 1986. Went to visit family. And there was that whole EXPO '86 thing going on. That was pretty cool too. |

Do they do "Expos" any more? |

Aren't the gardens in Victoria?

It's close to Vancouver though. I remember a ferry being involved but it may not have been to the gardens. I was 9. |

(and they're really called Canadans, because the country's called Canada. If they were called Canadians, the country would have to be called Canadia). |

I'm sure the Lashes know this but better be safe by saying it out loud. |

Oh and in case that was a serious question, Canadans drive on the right side of the road just like Americans. They are thoroughly dominated culturally.
But it is ok, they like it. Yeah they do. |
Ah, but their Poutine (sp?) almost beats American food for cholesterol laden goodness....
...all it needs is Bacon sprinkles... |

We also need to take the boys to the elephant seal rookery. It is neat, and only a mile or two north of the Hearst turn off.
|
OMG! Thurston and Elephant Seals. I can't wait.
|
Thurston, Elephants, Seals, Rooks & Bears - oh my!! :D
Sounds like we're going to be having LOTS of fun. |

Love and hugs, The Impending Stoat XXX. |
Holy crap, I experienced Tim Tams for the first time last year when friends of ours visited family in Australia and brought us like 5 boxes of 'em. Fantastic! I kept a package in the freezer for hourly emergencies.
Lash(es), you must bring some to Cambria. Name your delivery fee and it's done. |
And it just might be time to unstickify this thread as well
