6/28 Party in the Valley @ my parents house :)

Hey guys so my parents are going out of town this weekend for their anniversary and I got roped into watching the dog and staying over Saturday night at their house (again).

Yes yes, this happened last year, and I vowed not to get wrapped up in their dog-watching issues, but.. here we are again. ;)

SO .... this means, this Saturday night in Northridge the pool and the house are open to anyone from here that wants to come. That's my parents' tough luck (and my payment) for them not being able to find a neighbor to watch the dog. We (meaning, a bunch of LoT folks) had a blast last year in the pool and playing on the Wii. I could even bring over some DVDs to watch. You can stay as long as you like (as long as you're out sometime Sunday morning, I do have to go to the pool party fund raiser).

OH... and FYI about the pool party fund raiser (for the Love Honor Cherish -- see the gay marriage thread for details) you can always just stay over if you'd like and head down with me to the party, OR if you cannot attend said pool party and you'd still like to make a donation, feel free to bring a check and we'll be sure it gets to the right people.

AWESOME... PM me (or let me know in the thread) if you'd like to swing by, and I'll PM you with the address. And bring your swim suit :)

Gemini Cricket 06-24-2008 12:38 PM

I'm there. I had a blast last year.
Just as long as no one makes fun of my farmer's tan.
:)

innerSpaceman 06-24-2008 12:49 PM

Or my sunburnt back that hopefully won't peel off. Ouch.

But, yeah, so much fun last year. Let's do it again!!

BarTopDancer 06-24-2008 12:50 PM

I have to go suit shopping? Ugh! hehe.

What time are you starting?

LSPoorEeyorick 06-24-2008 12:50 PM

Sure, we'll come! We can't stay for long - workin' on a project right now - but we'll stop by!

mousepod 06-24-2008 12:52 PM

Damn. A friend is coming in from out of town and we have tickets to a show at the Viper Room on Saturday.

Ghoulish Delight 06-24-2008 01:06 PM

Hmm, we'll be up that way anyway, we might be able to come by. I definitely want another chance at demolishing your parents' pool.

Well I'm thinking any time you'd like to come hang out after 7 is cool (last time was a night-event; not sure I made that clear in my OP.. the projected weekend weather is in the 90s so it should be a nice evening). I'll stop by Trader Joes and pick up some fruit, snackies, and perhaps a little wine (for y'all, of course) but generally it's BYOA. My parents rarely drink so there's probably SOMETHING in their bar. So we should probably do them the favor of taking some of that off of their hands.

And of course the spa will be nice and toasty.

Hee hee this DOES feel like high school all over again. I love it!

Cadaverous Pallor 06-24-2008 01:33 PM

We also need more pictures of the Little Lord Fauntleroy photos

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 06-24-2008 02:01 PM

I will do my best to be there minus swim suit. More sing-a-longs by the piano? hehe

Gn2Dlnd 06-24-2008 02:15 PM

I think I'm giving my friend Rick a cake at Colfax on Saturday, we'll see.

^ This sentence does make sense.

Yeah, but that is over at like 9:30, you could be at my folks house at 10ish, easy :)

Chernabog 06-24-2008 03:28 PM

Oh, and yes, I will be bringing Super Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Brawl so if anyone has 2 extra Wii-motes to bring, that'd rock.

So either Bornieo's not swimming or he's swimming nekkid!
:D

LSPoorEeyorick 06-24-2008 03:35 PM

Guitar Hero? (I bat my eyelashes.)

We have a wii-mote we've never used (we're waiting for our console to arrive.)

BarTopDancer 06-24-2008 03:37 PM

How many TVs are there? We could have multiple Wii systems going if people bring over their system and MK...

I don't have Guitar Hero, but if someone has the Wii version I would be happy to play. (I think I'm like the only person on here besides mousepod with a Ps3, so I doubt anyone has that version).

Well there's one downstairs and two upstairs that are totally Wii-able. Only thing is that I don't know the code specifically to pop onto my folks' wireless, but I'll ask em.

Gemini Cricket 06-24-2008 04:13 PM

I think there's going to be a picture missing before we show up.
:D

Hahaha. "A" picture. Dude, I think he could spend all week taking down copies of those pictures and not get them all.

I'm not cruel enough to put anyone thru any of that. I will be fully clothed for the benifit of those with sight.

CoasterMatt 06-24-2008 07:43 PM

I won't miss this shindig

Not Afraid 06-24-2008 10:15 PM

I'm double booked with overnights and I just found out that that's the night we have tickets to see Louis XIV. I'm in BIG trouble.

BarTopDancer 06-24-2008 10:41 PM

Time to get a time turner!

Not Afraid 06-24-2008 11:18 PM

No, I need a clone.

Chernabog 06-26-2008 11:18 AM

Well what time did people stay until last time? I recall it was pretty late :)

Oh and if you don't have the address or directions (or my phone #) please PM me and I'll pass on the info. For those that haven't been, my parents house is in Northridge, off of the Reseda Blvd. exit of the 118 freeway.

innerSpaceman 06-26-2008 11:19 AM

What time's the shindig start?

Chernabog 06-26-2008 12:12 PM

I'd say come by any time after 7. I mean, I'll be at the house starting at 4, so no worries about showing up too early/late.

LSPoorEeyorick 06-26-2008 12:16 PM

Cool! Steve, Marla, Tom and I will come after our screening of Wall-E is finished. (It starts at 5.) Anybody else who's interested is welcome to join us, we'll be buying tickets shortly.

Chernabog 06-27-2008 11:41 AM

OK so it looks like this is gonna be some fun times!! Just a reminder if you don't have directions, please PM me. And don't worry - I'm sure it'll go till pretty late, considering some people arent even arriving till like 10 lol

Chernabog 06-28-2008 12:45 PM

GUYS PLEASE PASS THE WORD-- PARTY HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away this morning, and people showing up at my parents house is probably not the best thing. :-\ We'll do it another time, m'kay?

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 06-28-2008 12:49 PM

So sorry for your loss Joe. My best thoughts.

I'm so sorry about your grandmother.

Chernabog 06-28-2008 09:00 PM

Hey thanks guys... we'll do a fun party another night, it just wasn't meant to be today for whatever reason.

I hope everyone has a fabulous evening. I'm doing okay, sort of off and on. My grandmother was doing really badly there, her quality of life was just horrible and there was no real hope of her getting better, so this was for the best. Still sucky tho. Thanks SO much everyone for the condolences, it is so amazing to have good friends like you ((hugs))

wendybeth 06-28-2008 09:29 PM

I'm so sorry, Cherny! My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
