I like the invite...

I'm not saying I'm going or anything... I just like the poster, is all

The hot air balloon reminds me of the It's A Small World movie poster.

Gemini Cricket 07-10-2008 12:01 PM

There was an IASW movie?!

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 07-10-2008 12:05 PM

I don't think I'll be in L.A., that evening, which is a shame. I've been wanting to go to Bordello. I've read run things about the bar, though the raves are accompanied by warnings about the neighborhood.

BDBopper 07-10-2008 12:09 PM

Wow. Burlesque is definitely not my thing but that is a swanky looking poster! :)

innerSpaceman 07-10-2008 12:26 PM

I don't think we're going, as we'll just be getting back from Vegas* - but, um, can they steal the small world stuff and not incur Disney's wrath.

* zapp and i once hit the Park after returning from Vegas, but that was a bad move. We were both tired and crabby ... and when we lost each other in the crowd, one of us thought he'd been ditched and we had a big fight that led to the first our our Record Three Breakups!!!

Third time was the charm, so to speak. But we are still pals, and I will always love him, and we are off to Vegas tonight.

Kevy Baby 07-10-2008 12:29 PM

Tres cool. I wonder if Disney has swooped down upon them with a C&D (or worse) yet.

Yes, that is kind of a bad neighborhood. I would consider parking elsewhere (downtown) and taking a taxi over.

And in looking at Google Maps, I see that not too far away is a street called (I kid you not) Via Las Vegas. How cool is that?

I love the name Lili VonSchtuppe.

€uroMeinke 07-10-2008 08:19 PM

If only this didn't conflict with the SJC swanking - of course, it is just a quick walk from Union Station...

She's tired of being admired, you know.

I'll be direct since the many posts alluding to the movie probably all went flying right past you.

Lili Von Shtupp (note the difference in spelling) was the name of the character that Madeline Kahn played in Blazing Saddles.

Did somebody quote this for posterity? It made me laugh right out loud.

It hadn't been, but it is now. Glad you thought of it.

I figured it was a name from a film I have no clue about - other than tons of inane quotes that have been relayed to me throughout my life. Still, it is ia great name.

Yeah, people never understand that when I say Monty Python is not all that funny, it doesn't mean I think they never did anything funny. Same with Mel Brooks.
