The Dark Knight: The Meet
There was some talk of seeing The Dark Knight in the other thread, but it didn't get very far.
This is for those who don't already have plans to see it. I suggest a Friday night (late show) or Saturday afternoon show with dinner after. Since several of the scenes are filmed for the IMAX screen I think an IMAX theater would be best. Being that I'm suggesting this meet I suggest the Friday, 10pm show or a Saturday show at the Spectrum IMAX. But I understand it's far from everyone else, however the Spectrum is right by a train station. So let's discuss. ETA - it looks like the last metrolink train out of the Irvine station on Saturday is at 6:30pm. |
If you guys go Friday, we can't go then (but have a blast - I hear it'll be great!) If you guys go Saturday, we might definitely be interested. We'll see it Saturday somewhere, anyway!
|
OC is a bit far for us, but I'll keep a watch on the thread. I miss you peoples!
|
Dude.
I'm jealous. We'll be going up here, so if anyone wants to book a flight to SLC, we'd be glad to entertain! |
I'm tempted. We're definitely going to see it this weekend. The last three movies we've been to have been at the new theater at the Americana in Glendale. It's a nice theater with stadium seats - and there's never a line. The only problem is that the crowd is never one that I can identify with (i.e. not as many fanboys/girls and more HS kids and families), so I feel I'm missing a key part of the opening weekend experience.

I'm thinking the 7pm show would be good, we should probably have a contingency in line about 5:30 or 6 though. If people wanted to come early we could meet for margaritas at the Mexican joint (or the Chipotle) first.
There aren't assigned seats, so once we decide anyone can buy a ticket if they want to come. |
Tix might sell out for IMAX - probably should make a decision soon.
I work Saturday until 6pm... |
Ya, I want to decide and buy no later than tomorrow.
Could you make the 7pm show or would you prefer the 10pm show? |
We'll be seeing the Real Tuesday Weld in California Plaza that evening. Maybe a late show in LA would be the ticket for us.

10:15 is sold out. Looks like this was a bust.
Oh well. Have a good time whoever ends up seeing it whereever! :) |
Ah, the Dark Meet...
|
If OC doesn't work out, there are still tickets available in the 1:20 PM Cinerama Dome showing Saturday...
|
Unfortunately the gas to get to LA is making an LA trip prohibitive for me right now.
We did find another IMAX at the Garden Walk and we're looking at their 7pm Saturday show. If it's not sold out. |
7pm on Sunday in OC is too late for me on a school night - alas.
|
Sautrday.
|
Here is the link for the Garden Walk showing. Saturday would be best for me. Shows are selling out fast... I'm buying my ticket before I go to bed tonight. Anyone else in? The final verdict was the 10:30pm show on Saturday at Garden Walk. CP, GD and I have tickets so far. $13.50, no extra fees. Link here |
Yup, us 3 is in. :) Yeh-yeah!
|
I think NM and I are going to attempt the cemetery screening of A Clockwork Orange on Saturday night. If there are still tickets on Friday night (after TRTW), we may be up for a late night movie.... Maybe.
|
I definitely want to see the IMAX. What is this with movies selling out in advance? Such a bizarre concept. Is this a recent phenomenon or is this common in there here parts?
|
There are only 2 IMAX screens in OC: one at the Spectrum and an newly discovered and untested screen at the Anaheim GardenWalk. I'm sure the anticipation for the movie combined with the limited screens contributed to the IMAX shows selling out so fast.
|
Damn well there goes my plans of just popping by the Spectrum and catching the flick. Oh well, the movie won't be any different next weekend.
|
There was a 1:25am show on tomorrow and Saturday last time I checked. Don't know if it's still available or not.
