When is the mext LoT DL Meet?

I got my Economic Stimulus check in the mail today, and I've decided to spend part of it on a new AP. :D

So... When is the next time everyone is planning on going?

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 07-14-2008 07:48 PM

I'm not planning anything but I'll be there on the 17th (Thursday) for the 53rd.

innerSpaceman 07-14-2008 07:48 PM

Um, hmmm, is there something Disneyland coming up? Hmmm, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Ahem, DISNEYLAND BIRTHDAY - Thursday, July 17.

I won't be there all day, but several of us will be there in the afternoon and evening. Please join us. We haven't had a Disneyland outting in a long time ... and this is the perfect opportunity.

I haven't missed a Disneyland Birthday in 28 years. FIFTY THREE! Thursday!

BDBopper 07-14-2008 07:51 PM

Please have a cupcake for me. Ummmm maybe not. I have heard how terrible those things taste.

Kevy Baby 07-14-2008 07:52 PM

The ones on the 50th weren't bad.

Do they do cupcakes every birthday?

katiesue 07-14-2008 07:53 PM

Hmm Maddy needs a new AP maybe we'll go after work on Thursday.

BarTopDancer 07-14-2008 07:55 PM

Maybe I'll come up as well.

I thought they did. Then again I wouldn't know cause I've never been to Disneyland in over twenty years let alone on its Birthday.

innerSpaceman 07-14-2008 08:13 PM

No, thank god. The ones on the 50th were horrible. They couldn't give them away, no matter how they tried. (They were trying to peddle pallets of them for free by night's end).

Ah, but the yummy sheet cake served for the 45th. Mmmmmm, OhhMmmmmmmmGeee. Chocolate and vanilla varieties, and both were so delicious. There was a cake station every few yards throughout the Park, and the cake was irresitible. You could not stop eating it. You'd wolf down a piece while walking ... and by the time you finished, you were at the next place serving cake. It was disgusting and decadent and fantastic.

Oh, and the cake supply was endless. By the end of the night, we were just grabbing a piece, taking a bite, and throwing the rest away. On to the next station, and repeat. Hahahaha! Most Disneyland Birthday Cake Fun EVER.

Cadaverous Pallor 07-14-2008 08:22 PM

I liked the 50th cupcakes. Or rather, cupcake. I don't think I could eat two, they were so sweet. :)

We're going Thursday night, I believe.

lindyhop 07-14-2008 08:44 PM

Well, I've never been to DL on any 17th of July so should I give in or keep my record intact?

Morrigoon 07-14-2008 08:49 PM

I accidentally made social plans with someone for Thursday, but that someone will probably come to the same realization I did this afternoon (eg: oops, that's DL's bday) and so I'll probably be at the park that evening.

CoasterMatt 07-14-2008 08:50 PM

Rose and I will be there, open to close.

Yes... I know. Thank you. However, I have to be at work on the 17th.

innerSpaceman 07-14-2008 09:22 PM

Oh, that's just lame.

Ok, the next big Disneyland thing after that will be the re-opening of the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Thru ... on a date yet to be determined.

What do you mean you work on the 17th? What? All day and all night? Most of us are coming after work.

JWBear 07-14-2008 09:27 PM

Hmmm... That's an idea...

Where and what time?

alphabassettgrrl 07-14-2008 09:28 PM

::sniffle:: I'll be working until 6 or so. Too long a drive at that point and I work again the next day. Have fun everybody.

Can we plan something later in the month? Or in August?

katiesue 07-14-2008 09:40 PM

We'll probably arrive around 7ish - hopefully earlier but that's worst case.

BarTopDancer 07-14-2008 09:49 PM

I'll probably be there around 6 or so, depending.

madmonkeygirl 07-14-2008 09:51 PM

When is the mext LoT DL Meet?

Matt and i are gonna be there from Park opening til Park closing. I have the day off asked for it as well as the day after off. Work they can have someone else fill my shifts as they did. So looking forward to it being there on the birthday as always.

mousepod 07-14-2008 10:10 PM

I'll be in Anaheim... but not in Disneyland, because a) it's a blackout day for Disney Co. employees and their families (seriously) and b) I have to go see Jefferson Starship at the Grove.

Such a strange world.

Chernabog 07-14-2008 10:12 PM

I have a court appearance in San Bernardino that morning (ugh) but will be at Disneyland afterwards. Prolly from about 11am-5pm, and then.. I need to go back to work. Whee!

BUT...

This Sunday I will be there with cruise-boy from like 11 to close, if you wanna meet up, give me a call on my cell.

Gemini Cricket 07-14-2008 10:20 PM

I'd like to go. We'll see.
:)

I've just checked:

and the next park meet for LoT isn't scheduled until Monday April 20, 2009, when we will be getting our AP's.

See you then.

Hmm... question is, is it just the main gate pass, or is that also true of just getting oneself in on one's ID? I could be screwed if that's the case...

I think you'll be fine. I'm referring to the "Silver Pass" for non-park employees.

Gn2Dlnd 07-15-2008 01:38 PM

I'll meet y'all after my Farmer's Mkt. in Century City. Oh, by the way Ism, I have a CD for you, so be sure to stop by.

This is for what again, now? The anniversary of Light Magic?

belleh5 07-15-2008 04:30 PM

Have fun on the 17th everyone!! I wish I didn't live 300 miles away. I will be there for the 55th in 2 years.

Um, I can't stop by tomorrow, silly. I'll be at the Park.

Bring it with. Or it can wait till next week. Next 4th of July is 50 weeks away!

You'll be at the park for the 16th and 17th? Wow!

sorry ... still delerious with post-Vegas sleep patterns, high relationship drama overload, and empathy-drained weakness.

BDBopper 07-15-2008 07:11 PM

Maybe if I start walking now I'll make it to Disneyland in time for Disneyland's 54th Birthday in 2009?

Based on Moonies progress, I would have to say...

no

Are you renting a room this year?

It seems only the decade and half decade BDays get cupcakes. The ones for the 50th were like the standard store-bought cheepo ones, dry with a way too sweet frosting. But hey, you'd have to work hard at making a cupcake so bad that I wouldn't eat it! ;)

Yeah, I did like the 45th ones alot better. It was weird, they were cupcakes cooked like a sheet cake. They still had the wrapper, but were square. No cutting needed sheet cake!

About 3,000 miles? I think you could make it. We'll just call you Forest Bopper and you could jog it! ;)

innerSpaceman 07-16-2008 03:52 PM

No room. Not again till the 55th.

Oh, and RStar is, alas, mistaken about the 45th cakes. They were not cupcakes shaped like sheet cake. They were sheet cakes cut in squares. The squares were not individually wrapped.

I'll consult a third opinion tomorrow at the 53rd.

I'll either be in great shape or expired by the time I get there. LOL

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 07-16-2008 06:22 PM

Just thought I would throw this out there: 12:01am screening of Dark Knight at the AMC Downtown Disney. Thurs/ Friday morning.

Hmmmmm

innerSpaceman 07-16-2008 06:25 PM

Tempting, but no. Already have tickets for the midnight show in Westwood. Leaving right after fireworks to make it.

JWBear 07-16-2008 06:28 PM

Who all is going, and how do we meet up? I only have Lisa's and Brad's cell phone numbers.

BarTopDancer 07-16-2008 06:42 PM

AMC DTD isn't IMAX.

katiesue 07-16-2008 07:41 PM

I think we're out. Maddy's camp field trip doesn't get back until 5 tomorrow. So we can't get on the road till 5:30ish earliest.

wolfy999 07-17-2008 01:13 AM

Katiesue..you have to be there..I finally bribed (Webkinz does wonders) Wolfette to go down to the Park to meet Maddy and a few other fellow CM's!

Chernabog 07-17-2008 06:11 AM

I'm scrolling back in this thread and since there isn't an actual meet-up time (and I won't have net access from here on out), I'll just call some folks once I get there and hope for the best. :)

innerSpaceman 07-17-2008 06:29 AM

Um, ok, how about 5:00 pm at the Hub? Some of us will be there earlier, some later. But i guess it would be good to have one general meeting time/place sort of once most people have arrived at the Park?

I'm completely guessing about what time most people will have arrived at the Park.

I should be there by 3:00.

And JW, I haven't heard that Lisa will be attending, but I'm sure Brad will be. Of course, as the Disneyland Switchboard, you're free to contact Lisa to get ahold of any of us at the Park. ;)

JWBear 07-17-2008 07:58 AM

I'm sure she'll love that....

Cadaverous Pallor 07-17-2008 08:03 AM

I get off work at 6pm...

BarTopDancer 07-17-2008 08:23 AM

I get off work at 5 and will be there around 6.

innerSpaceman 07-17-2008 09:10 AM

Um, let's just do cell phones, k?

BarTopDancer 07-17-2008 09:11 AM

Awww man! You mean we can't play Marco Polo to locate people?

Not Afraid 07-17-2008 09:16 AM

Chris won't get home until about 6:30 so the earliest we'll probably get there is 7 or 7:30.

Ahh the guilt. Ok ok we'll make it. I have no idea how long it'll take us but guessing around probably 7ish by the time we make it in.

Ghoulish Delight 07-17-2008 09:25 AM

We're planning on showing up, probably around 7ish.

I don't have a working number for you. But, I should be Hubside by 5(ish.)

If there are dinner reservations being made, please include me. I'll be powerful hungrified.

JWBear 07-17-2008 09:47 AM

Ooo... Dinner. What are the plans?

innerSpaceman 07-17-2008 10:12 AM

NO DINNER!

oK, not for me. It's of course up to each of you, but I'm not participating in any dinner. I want to play at Disneyland, and not spend the entire evening in a restaurant. I want to see fireworks, and not miss them entirely or have to run through Downtown Disney at heart-attack speed to catch a glimpse of the finale from the Esplanade.

Oh, and I'm leaving after fireworks to catch the midnight show of Batman II in Westwood.

Disneyphile 07-17-2008 10:34 AM

No DL for me today or this evening. I have the big Hollywood shoot tomorrow and the next, and I'm working on a couple projects that I'd like to finish up today.

Have fun, everyone! :)

Morrigoon 07-17-2008 10:35 AM

Heading out now. Gotta swing by DMV first, but otherwise I'll be up there.

BarTopDancer 07-17-2008 10:35 AM

Change in plans for me, I won't be there until closer to 7 and I'll have to leave shortly after fireworks.

Cadaverous Pallor 07-17-2008 03:17 PM

mext mext mext

You probably weren't trying to work full time in a corporate job while going to school full time while having all the household stuff that you have to take care of all to yourself too.

I hear ya!! I took 18 credits while working 3 jobs (wedding DJ, television station floor director, extras coordinator and casting for an on-location major film), and had to take care of two kitties, a bird, and a rat, while living all by myself.

So, I totally understand your pain. Gripe away, woman!!! :snap:
