Nothing is Sacred

A little bit of me died just now.

Lost Boys: The Tribe.

:(

innerSpaceman 07-28-2008 09:48 PM

Yeah, I heard of this a couple of weeks ago. Gak.

This will be all kinds of awful.

But at least it's not a remake.

Gemini Cricket 07-28-2008 10:40 PM

The Coreys are in it!
lol!
:D

NirvanaMan 07-28-2008 10:53 PM

Best Week Ever's "preview" of it was awesome:

I refuse to even acknowledge its existence.

Lost Boys is a cult classic and should be appreciated in its original form.

Come on, Hollywood. Time to actually get creative again!

swanie 07-29-2008 10:50 AM

What about the JC Penney commercial that is a Breakfast Club remake? I cringe every time it comes on.

And to add insult to injury, my kids totally don't get it. I believe lil' swanie's comment was "Breakfast what?"

I'm sooo getting old.

innerSpaceman 07-29-2008 10:55 AM

i love how everyone is fooled into thinking it's a breakfast club remake (since it plays right between the TV-style commercials and the actual coming attractions in theaters).

It's a testament to Everything Will Be Remade that people don't blink at a remake of The Breakfast Club and are surprised when it turns out to be a JC Penney commercial.

Disneyphile 07-29-2008 11:18 AM

Now I'm really glad I skip through most commercials, thanks to our DVR.

innerSpaceman 07-29-2008 11:23 AM

You can't skip through commercials at a movie theater. That's why they've migrated there.

Alex 07-29-2008 11:25 AM

Though the Regal owned chains have begun interrupting the projected commercials with their own personal commercials of having employees come in and try to sell Dibs and Wil Rogers contributions.

I've been wondering what the people who pay for the projected ads would think about the sound being turned off for this.

Kevy Baby 07-29-2008 12:24 PM

I don't know if it has been discussed in the Movies thread, but there is a documentary (American Teen) being released that is being paralleled to Breakfast Club.

When Nanette Burstein (Writer/Director) was shooting the documentary over the course of a year about five teens in Indiana, she did not realize it, but when editing began, she realized the amazing parallels. At least that is how it is being presented.

GusGus 07-30-2008 09:20 AM

ok, they even look like the original cast!

pleeease!

Morrigoon 07-30-2008 09:24 AM

Formulaic, much?

cirquelover 07-30-2008 09:24 AM

I loved Lost boys but I have no interest in a remake of it....or much of the other trash they redo!

It's one of my favorites. I found it sickingly amusing that "the Corey's" are reprising their roles, and are wearing basically the same costumes (per the commercial). But my heart broke even more when I heard Cry Little Sister in it.

Mousey Girl 07-30-2008 01:47 PM

At least it won't be in theaters.

scaeagles 07-30-2008 02:19 PM

Never seen Lost Boys.
