Betty 08-01-2008 11:41 AM

Very cute. I just colored mine and it turned out VERY dark for something that was "medium brown". (what an inventive color name).

I love the red tones in yours. Your the hip gal now! :)

LSPoorEeyorick 08-01-2008 11:55 AM

Adorable!

I've been waiting for FOUR MONTHS to get my hair cut like I've been planning. But I didn't want to do it before the wedding I'm in next weekend, in case it wasn't quite right and it was saved in my friend's wedding pictures for all eternity. I've been planning to do a retro bob with bangs. I'd go black-Bettie if I thought the chlorine wouldn't kill it.

Nephythys 08-01-2008 12:01 PM

Need a better pic-

My hair is red-with purple red chunks :) it's extreme- but I loves it lotz!

GusGus 08-01-2008 05:12 PM

I know exactly what you mean about change! I just hacked off about 8 inches of my hair.

love the red!

I like the pic. It looks like you're going to kick someone's a$s.
:D

Not Afraid 08-01-2008 06:14 PM

You inspired me to go darker with mine. Not sure what color it relly is yet because it's still wet.

blueerica 08-01-2008 09:17 PM

I'm actually going to go shorter on my next cut. I'm ready. Been so long since I had my short hair again.

I know... people spend time growing it out... I'm always looking for the day I cut it off...

And again, good inspiration, Nephy

...and just 3 weeks later the color is so washed out that it looks dark strawberry blonde.

I am NOT pleased. :(

Contacted my hairdresser- hope they have a solution.

Dear Nephy,

I'm sorry that your cheese is unhappy. I hope they have a solution too - putting a solid on your hair would look dumb.

You realise of course, if you'd hated the colour, it would have lasted 4ever.

Love and hugs,

The Stoat XXX.

Morrigoon 08-20-2008 10:52 AM

Neph: reds never last. Tis their nature.

I hate that!! I went dark with mine, the color is a hazelnut, with golden highlights. It is now a light auburnish color. I can't afford to have it redone, and am too chicken to do it myself. The funny thing is that you can't see any outgrowth, so I am thinking that this is as close to my natural color as I have been in the past 20 years.

Not Afraid 08-20-2008 11:18 AM

Reds always fade. I have to do mine every 6 weeks.

I do mine several times a week.

And I do my hair about once per five weeks.

Nephythys 08-20-2008 11:34 AM

3 weeks!!!

Is it safe for me to just go buy color at a store and do it myself? Now that the red base is in?

Go for it honey !!!

Walmart has a special on satin water-based...and I promise you won't fade, chip or crack for 4 years.

For solid colors, I always go store-bought, and do it about every 6 weeks, especially with reds.

Also, to help the red last longer, try using a henna shampoo. You can find those at some natural products stores.

Nephythys 08-21-2008 07:03 AM

picked up the dark auburn at Sally's- the color # is 666 ;)

Did it myself- and my hair is back to dark red- yippee!
