DP's big bad birthyday bash
So DP's birthday is coming up at the end of the month. :D
We have been going back and forth on what to do and have finally settled on a birthday party at our favorite Mexican restaurant Azteca.:snap: It's going to be Sat Sept 27th at 7:00pm:cheers: :cheers: http://www.aztecamexicanrestaurant.org/ We decided it would be fun to spend the night partying with our friends and just having fun. We really just want to see everybody and keep things low key so just bring yourself and be ready for some fun.:cool: For those of you who haven't been, Azteca has good cheep Mexican food, great drink specials, one of the largest Elvis memorabilia collections out side of Graceland, and Karaoke starting at 9:00 so be ready. ;) Azteca is located in Scenic downtown Garden Grove, just minutes from the park, and we would love to have everyone there. If you can come, just respond to the poll by 9/20 so I can give the restaurant a final head count. |

Well damn it i usually work on Saturdays. ugh Of course i can't get out of my shift not sure my work hours yet and at least a good hour's drive on a Saturday evening if i rush home and change assuming i work til 5pm. I could technically switch with someone if they'd let me but finding it harder and harder to find someone to switch with.
As it is i'm having a hard time with my days off requests and i can't ask for anymore without them cutting into my Halloween time off that i've already put in for. Maybe for now until i know further. |
Oh! Shoot. We're in Michigan at a wedding that night - otherwise we would TOTALLY be there. We'll be there in spirit, and maybe we can kidnap you guys to do something fun another time.

CM and I want to be there so very bad. It depends on my work schedule if i open and get out at 5pm we will RUSH to get down there (might be a tad late but still) if i close then i'm stuck. I'm praying i open and not close. New boss is a jerk as far as time off days off changing the schedule. Already don't want to jepordize the days off requested so far.

Folks, just as an FYI, one of the great things about Azteca is along with being tasty, it's also SUPER affordable! So this is a real easy swanking to join in on.

Got work schedule for next week. CM and i can make it but we might be late. I work 9am til 5pm and that means rushing home by 5:30pm and then change and if we leave by 6pm we should arrive semi late but still able to join you guys. I want drinks and food and karoke to Bon Jovi...lol Will need directions though.

Oh, and for those of you who haven't been, they only do one check for large parties and add the gratuity in. They do take all major debit/credit cards, and also have an ATM on-site, if you need it. :)

Well, we just got a call from the restaurant. They claim that "someone with prior reservations" already had the center tables and they "accidentally overlooked" it when Ken called nearly 2 weeks ago. :rolleyes: (Yeah, something smells fishy about that... Ken was even told "We don't have any other parties that day, so it's not a problem.")
Anyway, they've now "offered" to "remedy" the situation by giving us the two large booths with some adjacent some tables in the corner. So, when you come through the main doors, turn left and you'll see us. It's not like our crowd won't stand out. ;) It's sad, because Ken and I are frequent regulars of the place, and often tip 25-30%. Nice way to treat your regulars.... Very bad form. I swear, can't I just have one friggin day this year that something goes right... :rolleyes: |
It'll probably be a pretty good setup though. I know which booths you're referring to, and with tables right in front of them that are also us, we'll pretty much be that whole front section of the restaurant around the corner from the entry.

I was really sad when I found out why they had to leave early. :( The plates are always very hot there, which is great to keep the food warm, but not to the point it hurts people. :(

Susan just called. The bandages are off and the blisters are mostly gone. Just the pain to deal with. A friend is helping her get around right now.
