Anyone going to Disneyland on October 31st?

I will be making my second annual Halloween trip to Disneyland this Friday so I can check out all the villains. Anyone else planning on going?

Kevy Baby 10-27-2008 12:41 PM

No

Not Afraid 10-27-2008 01:00 PM

I would like to go. We'll see what actually happens.

Prudence 10-27-2008 01:29 PM

I specifically arranged my schedule so that I wouldn't be working -we'll be there.

Ghoulish Delight 10-27-2008 01:35 PM

Tentative yes.

BarTopDancer 10-27-2008 01:41 PM

Maybe. I sold my ticket to the game that evening....

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 10-27-2008 01:51 PM

Going Trick or Treating at Knott's Haunt!!

JWBear 10-27-2008 02:09 PM

Hmmmm... I'd love to, but won't have a car that day.

€uroMeinke 10-27-2008 09:55 PM

perhaps

CoasterMatt 10-27-2008 09:58 PM

Another evening of Halloween Haunt with dear friends.

madmonkeygirl 10-28-2008 10:55 AM

Yup one last night at Haunt with friends this time around. It's our yearly tradition with Monsters Trick or Treating (have to buy candy to give out to monsters) it's so much fun. :) I love handing out candy to the monsters. :)

Heheh, I'm making my second annual Halloween trip to the WeHo Halloween Thingy, so I can check out the incredible costumes (among other things) ;)

Princess Dala 10-28-2008 02:19 PM

I will be there in the late afternoon and evening. It's been - GASP! - over six months since I was last at the resort. not a record, but it sure freaking feels like it. xD

JWBear 10-29-2008 10:43 AM

Soooo.... Who's going, and when? I'd love to be able to go during the day, but won't have a car. Bill and I have plans in the evening.

Not Afraid 10-29-2008 11:06 AM

I'm still trying to figure out my schedule. If I go, I'll give you a ride, John.

Strangler Lewis 10-29-2008 11:07 AM

You did it again!

Thanks!

I've got my market during the day, but afterwards, I'm thinking an informal swanking would be fun. Depending on how busy the market is, I could be on my way from Downtown L.A. by 3 or 3:30. Weho's a lot of work, that, frankly, I'm just not up to this year.

How costumey could we get, and still be let into the park? GC's BumbleBrad could cause ALL kinds of confusion.

I'm warming to the idea. Haven't been to the park in a while, would love to see some Halloweenyness.

SzczerbiakManiac 10-30-2008 12:50 PM

I am still going. Sorry for not organizing this, but I had to leave town for a couple day to attend a funeral.

Should we meet at the Hub at Noon or something?

I'm going to try to be there at opening, as long as I can drag my sorry ass out of bed on time. I'll try to remember to bring my cell, and if I do, I will even turn it on! ;)

alphabassettgrrl 10-30-2008 05:01 PM

Enjoy the day! I wish I could go. I love Hallowe'enTime.

Prudence 10-30-2008 07:35 PM

We might be eating at noon. (or possibly not. Depends!) If we miss the noontime - anywhere/when we can meet up? Who all has my cell # that's going to be there?

Ghoulish Delight 10-30-2008 08:13 PM

We'll be arriving some time after work.

Not Afraid 10-30-2008 08:34 PM

I'm going to pick up JW Bear sometime tomorrow morningish and drag him on a dog walk, then go to the Park. I don't know how late I'll stay, but I want to at least see some villains, decor and ride HMH.

€uroMeinke 10-30-2008 08:35 PM

I have to work first, but I'll do my best to get out early to join some of you before you leave

Not Afraid 10-30-2008 08:36 PM

Chris and I will be doing the tag-team approach that day.

BarTopDancer 10-30-2008 08:42 PM

I have to get my paper half done if I want to come play. Considering it's not even started...

If I do make it, it will be tomorrow night.

Prudence 10-30-2008 09:15 PM

I have a new camera! It wants to take pictures of swankers!

SzczerbiakManiac 10-31-2008 12:29 AM

I need to leave by 6:00pm to catch The Rocky Horror Show, but I hope to see as many LoTers as possible.

Gn2Dlnd 10-31-2008 12:46 AM

I'll see youse guys tomorrow! I haven't seen most of you in a while - Silent Running? - so, yay!

NA, I don't have your current phone #, would you mind PMing me, or just calling, so I can update my contacts. And be able to find you tomorrow!

Gn2Dlnd 10-31-2008 10:34 AM

Do we have a roll call for who'll be at the Park after work? Is everyone leaving for the Rocky? It would make a big difference to me as to whether I'd like to commit the freeway time or not. I'm in if you're in. (Hopefully) see you guys tonight!

Ghoulish Delight 10-31-2008 10:39 AM

We'll be arriving ~7:30ish (sorry we'll be missing Szczczczcbikakckk and any other early folk).

CoasterMatt 10-31-2008 10:52 AM

You might be able to hear madmonkeygirl screaming tonight, all the way from Knott's. :D

Morrigoon 10-31-2008 05:59 PM

So, are people dressed up or what?

Ghoulish Delight 10-31-2008 06:46 PM

It's unf*cking canny how often I get stuck at work late on Fridays on which I was planning on going to Disneyland (neither of which occurs very regularly anymore, yet always seem to sync up).

CP just got to the park, I'm still in test world.

Not Afraid 10-31-2008 09:30 PM

I was there from about 1 until 6. There were a SAD amount of Vilians out and about. SM was told that the Big Bad Wolf would be over at DCA and i was VERY excited and even had a great photo set-up planned. Alas, no Wolf for me. We did see Frolo and the Queen of Hearts. Whoop.

First, we honed in on Pru and SM's table an ha some lunch (Borneio joined is as well). We then rode Mansion and Pirates then went over to DCA to take a few virgins on Midway Mania. Chris arrived just in time to join the game. We wandered over to the Blue Sky Lounge (or, whatever it's called) then stopped at Burrrrrrbank for an Ice Cream Appetizer (ie: dinner for me).

SM, JW and I had to take off just as Cheeseman arrived (Pru went off to study for MA). Last I heard, GD was still at work but CP arrived and the trio of cheeseman, Euro and CP were having a snack on Main St.

Gn2Dlnd 11-01-2008 12:57 AM

Just got home after midnight grocery shopping for milk. Both the 101N AND the 5N were traffic jams. I was sorry to see NA, JW, and SM leave, just as I got to the Park, but I was pleased to find out that Gyro would be staying. We inspected Pixie Holler and smelled Soarin' Over Mansion before CP joined us. From there, our "snack" at the Plaza Inn, Cobb salads big enough to feed 3 Thai families. Then a meander through N.O. Square, and a spooky train ride back to Main Street where we were joined by Pull-My-Finger String Sheriff Woody. I finished my night with a ride on Snow White's Scary Adventures (the brass apple's back!) and a t-shirt purchase at the Emporium.

Nary a villain to be seen, but plenty of kids (and a few adults) in costume. Some of those adults were just plain wrong. Ask CP about Tinkerhell.

Prudence 11-01-2008 02:30 AM

After concluding my MA study session, there was getting SOAKED on GRR, dinner at Storyteller's, two rides on Space Mountain (had fastpasses from earlier and someone gave us another set as they were leaving - apparently we're some kind of fastpast magnets), a ride on Buzz, and two peeks at the 80s all stars set (I'm becoming kind of a fan) and then a Disneyana stop to pick up a couple more main street miniatures -- where I learned that my bank had put a hold on my account because *GASP* I had used my card three times *in the same day* *at the same location.* Thanks, WAMU, for trying to save me from myself. You suck. Go away. Then, after LITERALLY an hour of hold time and arguing with them on the phone, it was karaoke time.

alphabassettgrrl 11-01-2008 10:30 AM

Sounds like a fun time! I've never been to Disney on Hallowe'en.

wolfy999 11-01-2008 10:36 AM

It's really not that much different than the other days surrounding Halloween Time, a few more costumes, but that's about it.

Kevy Baby 11-01-2008 12:32 PM

I'm still considering going

Cadaverous Pallor 11-01-2008 02:11 PM

Had a fun time at our mini-meet. If anyone feels that the Happy Haunts are still an MA threat, I'd like to mention that I had no idea Pixie Hollow existed.

No villains in sight (what, too dark and scary for them?) but I did get to see plenty of revelry. I'd say 75% of visitors had something Halloweeny on, from a simple orange t-shirt to full on costumes for adults. I wish I could un-see the saggy boob-ed bit-too-old Tink who was in full get-up. (That's a lot of hyphens.) How some of these costumes got in was beyond me. I wasn't in the mood for wearing Sally anyway, just my trusty trick-or-treat reflector and my Burtonesque stockings, which, sadly, have seen their last year. Everyone was in high spirits and the park was just within tolerably busy levels.

We never did hit the Mansion as poor GD was toast after a long crappy workday. He didn't make it to the park until 9:30ish. Another time!
