Check the Halloween Candy for Melamine

Every year I go through the candy wondering what I should be looking for - errant razor blades sticking out of snickers bars and the like.

This year though, you should check for chocolate made in China like the Pirate coins noted here on snopes:

http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp

It does say none were vended in the USA. The warning is for Canada. Still, if I found any of the pirate coins, I would toss them. Why take chances.

No, they're usually nasty, waxy shyt Masquerading as chocolate.

Is bad chocolate better than no chocolate?

I'm usually pretty ecumenical about my chocolate; but when you introduce the Melamine Roulette angle, I'm tempted to swear off all but the really, really good stuff.

No. I'd rather have no chocolate. I'm a chocolate snob.

Here's a tougher philosophical question:

Is bad chocolate better than carob?

No, they are equally unpalatable. Next? :)

Instant death or having all of your limbs removed (and still living)?

I'm the strange one who actually loves the taste of carob.

Anyway, I clicked on the product from Sherwood and they even claim it to be "Kosher". I didn't think melamine was Kosher.....

Somebody's lyin' somewhere!!

CoasterMatt 10-29-2008 05:14 PM

Is melamine the reason the Cadbury's bunny clucks?

alphabassettgrrl 10-29-2008 09:30 PM

I don't mind carob but I would definitely prefer no chocolate to bad chocolate. Bad chocolate ... I still want chocolate. At least with no chocolate I might be motivated into getting some good chocolate.
