Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend
Hey folks, remember that DST ends at 2am November 2nd (that'd be Sunday), so set your clocks back an hour!
|
Happy Happy sleep day! The best holiday of the year!
|
Yay! We gain an extra hour. What will you do with yours?
I'm thinking I'll sleep it away... yawn. I've been up too late nearly every day this week. |

Happy Extra Hour of Partying Day! |
Happy "crap, the commute is gonna be fvcked up for a month" day!
 |
While I'm always happy for the Fall change of time, Spring's change reminds me why I think we need to do away with Daylight Saving's Time. Effing. Pointless. I mean, really... we have electricity. Eeeelectricity!

If it were up to me, we'd just permanently shift to DST. I much prefer daylight in the evening. |
Yeah - but I won't be going to work when it's quite so dark... at least for another month until things catch up and it's dark again.
|
I hatez that people forget how to drive in the dark.

I have to hear about it and end up talking about it every year, and I still talk about it, despite my annoyance. I smile while everyone cheers in the fall and jeers in the spring, all the while thinking "this is stupid." I'd rather talk about the weather. So, about this time-change... anyone as pumped as I am? :D |

And remember, kids, it's time to change those smoke detector batteries.

Europe changed a few weeks ago. It makes things complicated when dealing with an office in Dublin.

I say we cut the difference and go 1/2 hour in between year round. That ought to really confuse everyone.

Break up the time zones in 6 minute increments all around the world (using absolute straight lines: none of this "following geography" caca de toro.
|
The sudden time change and driving home in the dark is the signal for me that the seasons are changing and we're heading towards the holidays. I like the transition.
|
Time change has meant suddenly sweaters.
|
*cue innerSpaceman's annual rant about how he'll 'never see the sun' on the weekdays between now and spring*
|
It's really bizarre seeing your phone clock going from 1:59 to 1:00.
I also found it amusing that yesterday was t-shirt and flip flop weather and today was sweater weather. |
Today Taylor woke up at 5am. I am so sleepy. I hope she sleeps in tomorrow.
|
I posted this in the so thread earlier, but my phone actually did the time change twice. I left it on hoping it would get stuck in an infinite loop, but it stopped at 2. After I powered it down and back on it was back to the correct time.
|
All this means for me is that The Daily Show is on at 10 now.
|
Ugh. It starts. The Dark Times.
Woe is me. I'll never see the Sun on weekdays till Spring! |
Maybe you could eat lunch outside?
|
I thought this thread was announcing the fact that we will no longer be changing the clocks anymore as daylight savings time would be no more. I had heard somewhere that this is to be the last time. Anyone heard that?
|
I had forgotten about one benefit to being off DST. Having an evening commute that is 90% northbound, I'm glad that it is now in the dark rather than having the sun in my driver's side window the entire time.

It's just my annual tradition of hyperbole .... and I couldn't let Isaac down. |

Although there is a movement to do so. And I learned today that the correct nomenclature is is Daylight Saving Time - the middle word is singular (at least according to Snopes). |
All times are GMT -7. The time now is 07:06 PM. |
