Tour the Victorian El Mio - of Haunted Mansion Party Fame - TKG weekend
You've seen the Mansion gussied up for Halloween ... or perhaps you haven't had the pleasure.
Well, this is your chance to Tour the El Mio Mansion and experience all its 1887 Victorian Era splendor. Sunday, November 30, 2008 (Thanksgiving Weekend), from 10am to 4pm, tours of the historic site* will be available to the general public - - many of them conducted by Yours Truly in inimitable style of informatively fun. Hear about the Hidden History, Marvel at the Ingeneous Victorian Lifestyle. Tickets are $5 per person, and are very limited. Please PM me or post in this thread if you are interested ... and I will see to it that you do not lose out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. No more sneaking around the house in secret during the party. You will be allowed to See It All. Never Been to the Party? Now's Your Big Chance to experience the majesty of EL MIO. 5905 El Mio Drive, Highland Park, California. * 1982 - National Register of Historic Places; 1975 - Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument. |
Do you mean November 30th?
If so I think we're interested. |

Spaces still available for the fantastic Tour of the incredible El Mio, reputed to be haunted (well, reputed by me, who has been in the house alone at night .... creeeeepy), sight of historic seances (and not just by our mannequin-headed Madame Leota, but the real deal near the turn of the last century), and just a fantastic Phoenix Risen from the Ashes of a tragic fire 6 years ago to miraculously remain among California's glorious Historical Landmarks.
Sunday of Thanksgiving Weekend. Proceeds benefit the Milford Archeological Research Institute. And Tickets are a STEAL at Five Bucks a Pop! What a way to kick off the holiday season, eh? :D |
Oh I love El Mio! Spider Baby!!
|
Hahahahaha, Give That Woman A Prize.
Yes, folks, it's the Famous Film Location for that Cult Classic that apparently one other person has seen ... Spider Baby |
At least two others. I love Spider Baby. This sounds like a great time.
|
And a reminder to NA and€uromeinke that I am holding two tickets for you for this.

I'd love to do the tour, but I might just have to remain a sneaker-around-at-the-parties gal. ;) Let me check schedules...

or there seems to have been a falling out.... |
Mormon Friends + Prop 8 vote x defenisiveness of cult - friendship = current situation.
BUT, the Judge who build the house was a famous occultist who performed real seances in the very room where Madam Leota recently held forth ... and who knows, maybe we shall try to ressurect the spirit of dead friendships this very weekend. |
