One Year Ago Today.......
 

.....I feel in love. I had tried to adopt a pug for months to no avail. Too many cats was what most of the rescues said. I tried local breeders, but no litters were planned for the future. I tried the shelters, but couldn't find one. I found one at another, non-pug rescue, but was beat out by a former rescue client. Out of frustration I visited the place where several clients had gotten their dogs. It is a pet store, but they only go through carefully chosen breeders who they personally visit. I thought I'd at least take a look and ask some poignant questions.

Well, I fell instantly in love. One look was all it took from this little guy and he was mine. He chose me, so I had to choose him.

One year ago today, I brought home my little man, Thurston Howl. He's been the joy of my life, my constant companion and the best dog I've ever known. I love him beyond belief - and surprisingly enough, so does Chris, a staunch anti-dog person. This little man could win anyone's heart and soul as he has ours.

Awwwww! My grandpa used to raise pugs...they are one of my favorite doggie breeds. :D

Awww - I love my Pug. We sang to him tonight for dinner, worthy 10 spins a numerous prances - which I think in pug, means he approves. The food was good too.

I think he's knows it's a special day. He's been doing very cute things all day long - starting with charming all of the burly gruff men at the fish store, then literally LEAPING (more hurling) like only a cat should into Chris' lap, and most recently howling like only a Thurston Howl should.

Yay piggy! Thurston not only melted €uro's heart but mine as well. I was a pug-hater, I must admit, and I just adore the little guy. Every time I see other pugs, it's pretty clear that you guys got the cutest one of all. :)

I can't wait to get me some puggle huggles.

Normally I don't like any dog shorter than my beloved breed the Corgi, but pugs seem to like me, so I'm happy to return the sentiment.

Thurston is actually taller than most Corgis, he's just not as long - and his nose is squishier.

I'm looking forward to meeting him.

Boy he is a cutie. I loved the profile one. And the one posted above of him sleeping on a lap/arm as well. What a little snuggler he is.
