Craftastrophe!

:D

Ok, I could waste some serious time there, laughing my ass off the entire time.

Morrigoon 11-20-2008 03:45 PM

LSPoorEeyorick 11-20-2008 03:47 PM

Heh. Good find.

Some of it is pretty tacky and funny, totally! Like... Bad Clam!

I think some of the pieces are hipster-ironic, though... like, they're making fun of themselves before she does, which kind of makes her mocking of them... unnecessary? Like... Knit Brass Knuckles. I think those are great. And the boingboing team would eat that up.

Disneyphile 11-20-2008 04:09 PM

The whole website just enforces my belief that all glue guns should be registered and licensed. ;)

Gemini Cricket 11-20-2008 04:10 PM

DP ~ What a great find! Hysterical!
:D

But honestly, I don't see what's wrong with these fabric patterns. I'd sleep on a quilt made from these fabric squares.
;)

OMG. That is the gayest fabric ever.

Oh.... Drunkenseamstress.... I think some pillowcases are in order. I'll even help! ;)

SzczerbiakManiac 11-20-2008 04:42 PM

So where can I buy bolts of that cloth? I'm gonna redo anything fabricy in my home with those!

Not Afraid 11-20-2008 04:47 PM

Time for a M&L trip?

Sounds like it! Besides... you need to see some of the great Indian fabric they have. ;)

SzczerbiakManiac 11-20-2008 04:54 PM

M&L?

Not Afraid 11-20-2008 04:55 PM

The most wonderful fabric store on the planet.

innerSpaceman 11-20-2008 05:05 PM

I'll see you an M&L and raise you one ISW.

Not Afraid 11-20-2008 05:06 PM

IHSL?

Typo. Fixed above.

JWBear 11-20-2008 07:37 PM

M&L I know.... ISW? IHSL?

flippyshark 11-20-2008 08:23 PM

Oh you guys are just trying to kill me, aren't you.

Cadaverous Pallor 11-20-2008 08:30 PM

Fvck, I should send in some of the stuff my Mom made for me.

Kevy Baby 11-20-2008 09:50 PM

That is one slow loading site...

This thread makes me think of this sweater-

JWBear 11-21-2008 12:00 AM

That looks like Will Wheaton.

Ghoulish Delight 11-21-2008 12:06 AM

Coincidentally, it IS Will Wheaton.

JWBear 11-21-2008 12:10 AM

Then I suppose it makes sense that it looks like him.

LSPoorEeyorick 11-21-2008 12:21 AM

I know someone who went as Wil Wheaton in that sweater for Halloween.

lizziebith 11-21-2008 01:57 AM

Site loaded fine for me...for the entirety of the FREAKING TWO HOURS I WASTED THERE!! Thanks, though...I laughed pretty hard at some of those...and at others *full body cringe* I echo the request for therapy cost coverage found in some of the comments...

Yeah, when I got home last night, it was loading pretty good. There is some real disturbing stuff on there

Prudence 11-21-2008 09:04 AM

What is this M&L of which you speak? I have only .... 8-10 large bins of unused fabric. Clearly this alarming shortage must be remedied swiftly!

Not Afraid 11-21-2008 09:26 AM

M&L is a very large discount fabric store in Anaheim. They seem to be a clearing house for last year's fabric. They have bolts and bolts of fabric nd really good prices.

If you're not working today, Pru can I coerce you into a trip?

We could also hit Fabric Barn which really doesn't have fabric, but miles and miles of cheap ribbon.

Morrigoon 11-21-2008 11:36 AM

Woot! If she's not up for it, I am!

Fabric Barn rocks. We got the majority of our wedding ribbons there.

Gemini Cricket 11-21-2008 11:48 AM

Reminds me of a sweater Ralphie's friend from Sweden or Finland made for him. Turquoise blue with a huge goldfish on the front. It looked like it was made out of yarn. Not to mention it was like XXL on his Medium frame. Good intentions, tragic results.

Prudence 11-21-2008 01:05 PM

Sadly, I am at work today. Oh how I crave the yards of fabric and miles of ribbon!

Not Afraid 11-21-2008 04:41 PM

I didn't need much for today's projects, so I just stopped at Joann's. They must do IQ tests as well as efficiency tests before they hire people - and only hire those with the lowest scores.

Kevy Baby 11-21-2008 06:08 PM

It is interesting how close "Craftastrophe" and "Craptastrophe" are.
