Your Top 5 CDs at the moment?

I can't answer yet, since I need to do a lot of listening of the new stuff I just bought. But, I thought I throw out the question for y'all anyways. It's always fun to talk music.

You can answer more than once over time, as these things DO change. ;)

This week it's:

Tilly and the Wall - Wild Like Children

Bright Eyes - Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground

Joanna Newsom - Milk-Eyed Mender

Arcade Fire - Funeral

A mix cd a friend of a friend made me for my last birthday, that's chock full of Klesmer music, Romaly tunes, Indian ditties, etc. It's a perfect, perfect, lovely international mesh. If my heart could be burned onto a cd, it might sound a lot like this cd.

Ghoulish Delight 03-29-2005 12:20 PM

Josh One, Narrow Path
Kinky, debut album (dug it back out, man do I love this album)
Madaline Peyroux, Careless Love
Beck - Guero, even though I've only heard one track from it, once. That was enough to tell me that it's awesome
Oingo Boingo, Boingo (their final album) because that album is never out of the top 5 for me.

Hmm. I am a little embarrassed because it seems I still have basically the same favorites I had....

in no particular order:

1} Queens of the Stone Age~ 'Lullabies to Paralyze'
2} The Killers~ 'Hot Fuss'
3} Maroon 5~ 'Songs About Jane'
4} The Cure~ 'Galore'
5} Soundgarden~ 'Badmotorfinger'

I meant to pick up 'Guero'. It just came out yesterday, right? I need to head out to BestBuy......

I only want to listen to dance music on the way to work, I need something that's high energy otherwise I want to turn around and go back home. Currently I choose one of these three CDs every morning:

The Hit Singles Collections - Bobby Darin
Capitol Collectors Series - Louis Prima
Stompy Jones - Stompy Jones

At home I pulled out two old favorites and I still love them as much as ever:

Car Wheels on a Gravel Road - Lucinda Williams
Hats - The Blue Nile

Baileykat 03-30-2005 03:15 PM

Gwen Stefani - Love, Angel, Music, Baby
Motley Crue - Red, White and Crue
Frank Sinatra - The Very Good Years
Bowling For Soup - Hangover You Don't Deserve
Aerosmith - Big Ones

Quite the range there....

I second those selections and add:

David Bowie "Stage"
Talking Heads "The Name of the Band is Talking Heads"
The Fiery Furnaces "Blueberry Boat"
The Wedding Present "Take Fountain"
Arcade Fire " Funeral"

In other words - I like almost everything we just got. But I really LOVE Gram Rabbit.

Off to Amoeba for more, more more.
