More evidence of the dumbing down of America

Well, it's happened. Joe the Plumber's book is being released this month. (You can also order "Joe approved merchandise")

"Thousands of copies have already been pre-ordered at $24.95 each"

And for only $19.95, you can blog or chat with Joe. Oh, Joy!!!

I'm not even sure I have a comment other than to shake my head.

Ghoulish Delight 12-09-2008 11:11 AM

The correct term is "dumbening".

$19.95? Damn, that's cheap. It cost me a lot more than that last time I had to talk with a plumber.

CoasterMatt 12-09-2008 11:13 AM

Well, the asshat isn't a licensed plumber.

JWBear 12-09-2008 11:17 AM

What in hell does he have to say that would fill an entire book?!

Not a clue...nor do I want to know.

alphabassettgrrl 12-09-2008 11:41 AM

Just proves anything will sell with the right marketing.

Not Afraid 12-09-2008 11:44 AM

Ahhhh capitalism (and opportunism). Now, if someone is actually DUMB enough to buy the book....well, that' just dumb.

Cadaverous Pallor 12-09-2008 11:50 AM

His name isn't Joe, he isn't a plumber, his question was irrelevant to his situation, and he's made racist comments.....at best, this guy is a JOKE. I'd like a chat with him so I can laugh in his face.

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 12-09-2008 11:54 AM

Eh. I read Harry Potter fan fiction featuring Snape. Who am I to judge what other people want to read, though at least my dumb fix is FREE.

CoasterMatt 12-09-2008 11:56 AM

I'm sure the book'll go over well with people like this

Well that's just creepy.

Alex 12-09-2008 12:01 PM

I'm sure it was ghost written, I'm sure the pre-orders are mostly partisan organizations pumping up the book. I'm sure it will, in the end, be read by nobody.

Disneyphile 12-09-2008 12:07 PM

I hope it makes him extra money so he can pay extra taxes to help fund schools, etc. In a way, stupidity just might help this country's needs. ;)

And, then I'm sure he'll write a sequel to whine about the extra taxes he had to pay from the extra money he made from the first book.

Morrigoon 12-09-2008 12:10 PM

OMG, I love the phrase on that image, "It's like Mordor, with a K-Mart" ROFL

wendybeth 12-09-2008 12:31 PM

Even if 'Joe' were a plumber, in this economy he'd probably be an unemployed one. Ironically, being a Repub might actually work out for him, in the short run anyway.

DreadPirateRoberts 12-09-2008 12:41 PM

If MP reviewed the book. I'd be sure to read the review.

alphabassettgrrl 12-09-2008 03:12 PM

The slogan on the shirt made me laugh but the picture is creepy.

He did, however, try to save Israel from the evil clutches of Barack Obama. That's gotta count for something, no?
