Merry Christmas (etc)

Well, it's officially Christmas Eve!

So here's my tribute to all the holidays of the world, but mostly Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Yule, or happy other-denominational-holiday-of-your-choice! :)

Cadaverous Pallor 12-24-2008 08:40 AM

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Solstice, Happy New Year to my beloved LoT companions.

Alex 12-24-2008 08:47 AM

May you all have a wonderful Christmas firmly ensconced indoors. Even you Jews, Pagans, Muslims, atheists, Mithrists and zoroastrians.

I'm taking advantage of the day tomorrow to drive about 700 miles so if I see even one other person out on the road, let alone anything resembling traffic, I am going to flunk the whole world on Christmas spirit (nobody expects me to have any) and cancel next year's event.

We've got to drive to Hemet and then to Mission Viejo. fun fun fun. Still - it's nice to see the fam-damily!

Merry Christmas and Happy whatever-you-personally-celebrate to everyone here!   :coffee:

Chernabog 12-24-2008 09:13 AM

No matter what you celebrate, get out there and enjoy "A Christmas Story."

Just be careful not to shoot your eye out, kid. :)

I second that. :)

Everyone have a wonderful day tomorrow, whether it is the most blessed day in the world to you, or you just want to sit around in your pajamas, eat, and play video games.

In just a little bit I will suit up and do my thing tonight and visit 14 families from 4 pm and midnight driving over 100 miles

May the coming year bring you all the similes and health along with prosperity

Kevy Baby 12-24-2008 10:33 AM

Glen Ivy is doing a promo through today where you can get a $100 gift card for $75 (it runs through today). I went and purchased one for Susan last night (they have a "Day Spa" at the Brea Mall which is right around the corner from us). After purchasing it, I was walking through the mall and looking at their menu and realizing that $100 doesn't purchase all that much. So I went back to get another card.

Since I was just going to add to the existing card, the girl allowed me to apply the $100 gift card towards the purchase of a $200 gift card and just paying the $50 difference (I didn't ask for it and she wasn't supposed to do it). Which means that I netted getting $200 worth of gift card for only $125 net.

Sweet!

katiesue 12-24-2008 10:34 AM

Happy whatever you celebrate!

Ghoulish Delight 12-24-2008 10:41 AM

Merry Merry, Happy Happy Channukah, whatever pagan rite you celebrate or don't, I hope the time is spent well and well spent with friends and family.

I'm looking forward to the 4 days free from the office.

I hope that NA the dogwatcher/walker/feeder gets to stay home some time and enjoy a little piece with her brood, and €, too. At least before the dancing starts.

Om Shanti Om to one and all!

tracilicious 12-24-2008 12:37 PM

Happy Holidays, LoT!

alphabassettgrrl 12-24-2008 12:50 PM

Happy holidays everyone! Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy your holidays!!

Disneyphile 12-24-2008 01:12 PM

Happiest of days, for whatever you may or may not celebrate! :)

We're spending the whole day in pajamas and eating deli foods while playing video games. FUN!!! :D

BDBopper 12-24-2008 01:16 PM

YAY! My Mickey Mouse stocking arrived just in time to use this year. It's so cute!

It is now hung by the chimney with care. :)

lizziebith 12-24-2008 01:51 PM

Merry merry my lovelies! :)

Gn2Dlnd 12-24-2008 01:59 PM

Disneyphile 12-24-2008 02:09 PM

Ken's boss just gave us a $100 Disneyland gift card so we can use it to renew his AP finally. :)

And, he also gave him a lotto scratcher.... that yielded $50!

Merry Christmas indeed!

I guess we made it onto Santa's "nice" list. :D

Gn2Dlnd 12-24-2008 02:16 PM

This is the best Christmas story I never heard of: Y now la historia de Pancho Claus!

Sohrshah 12-24-2008 02:48 PM

May the Spirit of the season be with each of you as light returns again to the world- no matter what trappings you give this holiday season, I wish peace and hope for us all.

I'm ringing in the holiday by playing Silent Hill: Origins on my PS2. Nothing says "Peace On Earth" like fighting zombie nurses.

As a matter of fact, I just bought the PS2 version of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - so I'll be playing that as soon as I finish Silent Hill.

Stan4dSteph 12-24-2008 09:05 PM

I hope everyone had a wonderful Festivus. The airing of grievances was definitely extensive this year.

wendybeth 12-24-2008 09:16 PM

We're in the midst of yet another snowstorm and the roads are beyond an absolute mess. (Our mayor declared a state of emergency today). We were supposed to have my family over tonight, but everyone is snowed in. It's going to be one of our quieter Christmas's, but we've lots of food, presents, alcohol and other necessities- and I have the next few days off.:D

Merry Holidays, everyone!

ozron 12-24-2008 09:38 PM

I hear you, wb! We're gearing up for more snow before it warms up over the weekend, and the family Christmas events have been postponed until Saturday, moving my Boxing Day brunch to Sunday. The zoo's been closed and I haven't been to work since Friday, and I'm getting a bit stir crazy. I did get to see some friends in "Christmas Carol" at PCS last night.

Any way, Happy Holidays to all - make it what you will!

Merry Christmas!!! Less than an hour until present time!

wendybeth 12-25-2008 12:44 AM

Just kicked the kid to bed, and loaded all the stockings. The animals were especially interested when I was loading theirs- I really think they know they get treats. Mellie is doing her level best to look as pathetic as possible, all the while throwing glances over her shoulder at the fridge. She knows there is ham in there, and she knows I'll break down.

ozron 12-25-2008 12:55 AM

Wait... YOU loaded the stockings?!?!? But... but... but...

I'm confused...

Gn2Dlnd 12-25-2008 01:32 AM

No, no, she loaded them onto the mantel. For Santa!

Mousey Girl 12-25-2008 07:51 AM

I am still of the mind that it does not feel like Christmas. I hope everyone has a great day, no matter how you celebrate.

I just finished making my annual goodie plates to pass out to close friends and family. I have enough left over in case I get sneak attacked by a random gift giver.

Now I get to finish getting ready to go get The Boy and head to the Old People's house for breakfast!!

JWBear 12-25-2008 08:49 AM

Merry Christmas everyone. Ho Ho Ho!

scaeagles 12-25-2008 12:30 PM

I was wondering what woke me up at 4:40 this morning. Great pic!

Our Christmas at home has been wonderful. Sadly, we have to go have Christmas with my wife's to moron brothers and their families now. I do this only for my wonderful parents-in-law, whom I love dearly, because I seriously cannot stand them and their manipulation, drama, and brattiness.

Hard to believe my wonderful wife and her borthers were raised by the same people.

Sigh.

Sorry to be a bummer on Christmas...I've just had my fill of them.

Uhm....yeah....what Gn2 said. Santa's real busy this year- the terrible economy means he's got twice as many toys to deliver, so he put out the word that he needed help from us lazy-ass parents.

Santa was very good to me this year. I gots a new Smartphone- the Omnia 1910. It rocks.:D

(I also got new Cephalon pots and pans, and an electric griddle that I already prepared copious amounts of bacon on. Happy girl here.)

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Yay! I was doing the same dance this morning. Very cute PJ's. I got a set of Mickey Mouse PJ's from Mama this morning. I can't wait to jump in them tonight.

BDBopper 12-25-2008 04:16 PM

Sometimes the most touching thing can come in a very small package. I got many nice things this Christmas (Wii, a new keyboard, a podcasting kit, etc) but the one gift that touched my heart most was stuffed in my stocking.

One of my favorite Disney movies growing up as a Kid was Pollyanna. If you've seen the movie do you remember the prism? I got an ornament just like it. Yes I shed a tear. I hope this season you can be moved by one of the small, but wonderful joys in life!

bewitched 12-25-2008 04:19 PM

Everyone be Merry.

Very. Very.

Not Afraid 12-25-2008 08:42 PM

Rudolph visited our house for Christmas.

He's not quite sure what his red nose is doing on his forehead. I think he stopped for some egg nog on his way.

He must've been drawn in by all of the flully white stuff here.

It didn't take him long to become annoyed, though. He kept asking "Are we DONE yet? I need to get back to dreaming of the North Pole!".

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

LOVE THURSTON (the Red Nosed Pug Dog).

flippyshark 12-25-2008 09:14 PM

For Christmas this year, we embarked on a snow-to-surf expedition. First up, a drive up to Los Padres National Forest, where it was snowing:

We tried to build a snowman, but he's fallen and can't get up:

Getting off the mountain was tricky, as the drivers in front of us were completely freaked about the trace amount of accumulation on the roadway and kept us to a brisk 5 mph the rest of the way out of the woods. We stopped partway down to get another photo:

Once we got back to the highway, we headed south and stopped in Santa Monica to walk down to the beach and watch the sunset:

It's not a good photo, but here's the proof that we made it to the beach:

And here's the official "touching the ocean" spot:

Most important - we had fun. Don't we look happy?

dlrp_bopazot 12-25-2008 11:21 PM

I got some kind of virus, a bad back, and a Nintendo DS for Christmas. May I just say that I LOVE the DS! (The other stuff kind of sucks.) I can't wait for the Kingdom Hearts DS game to come out. Meanwhile, I've got Zelda to keep me busy. SO cool. (flippyshark's inner 12 year old does a quick happy dance.)

lizziebith 12-28-2008 02:23 AM
