Chernabog 01-08-2009 03:00 PM

That one made "cake wrecks" on her "amazing cakes" section. That site has links to the Flickr album, showing the inside after they cut it. It's almost a crime to cut something that pretty!

Alex 01-08-2009 03:20 PM

Whatever is at the other end of that URL completely freaked out the web proxies here at work.

Got screened about downloads and scrubbing and whatnot that I've not seen before.

alphabassettgrrl 01-08-2009 03:24 PM

http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/...al-beasts.html is an alternate site to see the cake. She has a link to the Flickr site.

mistyisjafo 01-08-2009 04:10 PM

Impressive! Did they order it from ace of cakes?

LashStoat 01-08-2009 04:50 PM

I couldn't be the one to cut it - such a work of art !!!

Snowflake 01-08-2009 05:15 PM

That truly is beautiful! And when a cake like this is cut, the inside is never very pretty. So glad they got pics, I am sure it cost a small fortune, and worth it!

Disneyphile 01-08-2009 05:31 PM

Holy crap!

I also checked out the baker's other creations, and they're all too amazing!

Mike's Amazing Cakes

I wonder if he's ever appeared on one of the Food Network Challenges...

From an aesthetics point of view, I really hope the first slice was right through the neck with a very large knife.

It was not. Scroll down and you'll see they went ass-first.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-09-2009 11:52 AM

The ass is the tastiest part of a dragon.

Moonliner 01-09-2009 11:53 AM

WTF???

What moron would stab a dragon in the butt with a sword!

Nincompoops! <- And I don't use language like that lightly.

JWBear 01-09-2009 11:55 AM

Nothing like a good piece of ass....

Prudence 01-09-2009 05:37 PM

I thought this was the guy from back home and I was right! I've seen his stuff at shows before.

Dragging this up to post this AWESOME story from Cake Wrecks:

Customer calls, lets the bakery know they'll be dropping of a USB drive with a photo they want on a cake.

Customer runs in, drops off the USB drive and alerts the nearest employee to it.

Customer receives the following cake:

That is too damn funny. Considering I have coworkers who have no idea what one of those things are, it's not too surprising.

They must have hot-linking to the larger image blocked.

SzczerbiakManiac 02-10-2009 11:46 AM

Morrigoon 02-10-2009 12:17 PM

alphabassettgrrl 02-10-2009 09:03 PM

I love the mario cart stacked one, and the Doctor Who ones, and the light-up gingerbread one,

Oh, who am I kidding? I love them all!

My mom just told me her own cake wreck story. A few years ago, she ordered a cake for her sister-in-law, who is named Elvira, but who goes by the name Teeny. (I don't know how this got started, but it's what we all call her.) So, my Mom calls Wegman's and asks for the message "Happy Birthday Teeny." When she went to pick it up, she discovered that instead it read:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FANG

Eventually, she and the woman behind the counter traced the mistake back to sloppy handwriting on the part of whoever took the message. The "T" became an "F", the two "e"s mushed together into an "a", the "n" stayed intact, and the "y" looked like a "g." Mom was quickly given another cake, and she tells me that Teeny probably wouldn't have found as much humor in the "Fang" cake as my Mom did.
