Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!

Goodbye, George W. Bush, goodbye, Bush Administration.

You've hurt us so badly, it's impossible to quantify. I'm trying to come up with words harsh enough for this post, and I am failing.

Whatever the future brings, at the very least, you are going away.

JWBear 01-17-2009 06:12 PM

Two and a half days to go yet.

I'm sure he can find more ways to screw us over in the 60 or so hours he has left.

Morrigoon 01-18-2009 12:13 AM

He can pardon himself and his cronies all he wants, but that won't protect him from an international tribunal if they can prove war crimes.

Doubt they'll pursue it though.

Disneyphile 01-18-2009 01:16 AM

I think we should burn a bush in effigy. ;)

Morrigoon 01-18-2009 01:52 AM

Insult to the plant.

Moonliner 01-18-2009 08:03 AM

It's traditional for the Outgoing president to take a lap around the city in his Helicopter on the way out.

I might cry a tear or two of joy at that sight.....

Considering there is nothing TO pursue on that front.

CoasterMatt 01-18-2009 11:17 AM

Could that helicopter just veer into the Potomac?

Gemini Cricket 01-18-2009 02:25 PM

See ya, Mr. Bush.
I won't miss you one bit.

BDBopper 01-18-2009 02:28 PM

bye bye to the closet socialist.

It's a small point, but he can't pardon himself.

But could he pardon Dick Chenny, resign, and then be pardoned, by the newly sworn in President all before noon on the 20th.

Alex 01-18-2009 03:08 PM

So far as I know, yes.

If he can sit and read a billy-goat story whilst 3,500 innocent people died, play golf or similar while Louisiana went under, and watch your economy go down the toilet and get away with it, I can hardly see him being held accountable for things abroad...worse luck.

Believe me when I tell you, we want to be shot of him - and his little dog too (John fvcking Howard).

Love and hugs,

The Stoat XXX.

He's a clever one, our Georgie.

(Just typing that made me throw up in my mouth a little)

tracilicious 01-19-2009 11:09 AM

See ya, fvcker.

Daily Show has been rather satisfying this past week. Jon hasn't masked his hatred of Bush at all. At one point in the electronic bulletin thingy that goes around the globe there was a clever combining of headlines. One ended in kill, one started in Bush. So if you paused at just the right moment you could catch the two on the sign at the same time. Result...kill.....Bush. Ha. I agree.

SacTown Chronic 01-19-2009 07:46 PM

Hurry up and go already. I wanna start bitching about the new guy.

dlrp_bopazot 01-20-2009 03:51 AM

well the only good thing he did for us is that the US Dollar is so Cheap for us . Thank you MR Busch to make the USD so weak .

Betty 01-20-2009 07:09 AM

Don't let the door hit you... and all that good stuff.

innerSpaceman 01-20-2009 08:31 AM

Well, Cheney's in a wheelchair. That's a good start to the post-Bush fates that hopefully await.

bewitched 01-20-2009 10:27 PM

This just amused me....

Larry King: "Are you surprised that President Bush had no pardons (in his last few days in office)?"

will.i.am: "No. I think that President Bush is the most relieved president in the history of American politics to leave office, and that he had gotten to a place where he was really looking forward to getting on that helicopter, sitting with Laura, popping a bottle of grape juice and flying off into the sunset. "

Ariana Huffington: "Not as much as the American people were to see him on that helicopter."

Alex 01-20-2009 10:47 PM

Is it me or does will.i.am's answer have nothing to do with the question?

Absolutely nothing.

eta: Well, I guess the "No." part did.

Jazzman 01-20-2009 11:13 PM

I'm surprised that everyone is so happy. Thousands of comedians, pundits, talking heads, hippies and their ilk no longer have someone to vilify. Think of all those out-of-work joke writers! Who are they going to blame every little trivial thing on now! Who are they going to spout off about and fling poo at?

(Full disclosure: I stopped supporting and believing in Bush years ago and was very happy to welcome Mr. Obama today. Just making a snarky point. Carry on.)

Eh. I figure it'll take years to undo all of Bush's damage; plenty of years of really good bitching left.

Alex 01-20-2009 11:28 PM

Somehow comedians found ways to make fun of pretty much every president we've had. I believe George Washington once kicked Jackie Mason out of his New York condo after an ill considered joke.

I'm sure the comedians and vilifiers will find something to do within their chosen professions.

Gemini Cricket 01-21-2009 12:04 AM

Speaking of the Steam song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye"... I could have sworn I heard people on the Mall singing it at the inauguration when Bush was introduced and as his helicopter flew off. But it could have been just in my head.

The democrat congress?

wendybeth 01-21-2009 01:13 AM

What Morri said. They'll have plenty of fodder- human nature will provide.

I just wanted to show you the Advertisement that was on Page 3 of the Daily Telegraph in Sydney today:

Just in case you don't have this product over there, Veet is a Wax strip / Depilatory cream company :D

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

LMAO!

We have Veet but Americans are WAY to prudish for that ad. Some religious group(s) would put together a protest and boycott the company. Then they'd go on every conservative political show from Rush Limbaugh to Mike Savage to tell them how dirty and nasty people's naughty bits are and how DARE a company even joke bout something so filthy. Then they'd say it's ads like this that cause teen pregnancy....Finally, they'd say how disrespectful (and very, very dirty) it is.

Betty 01-21-2009 07:54 AM

Great ad. Makes me want to go buy some right now! ;)

BDBopper 01-21-2009 08:02 AM

Was W one of our best Presidents? Nope. He will probably go down as one of our worst. While claiming to be a conservative he was responsible for increasing the size and scope our Imperial Federal Government the most since FDR, he signed away our political 1st amendment rights (McCain-Feingold - I think signing the bill was an Impeachable offense), he wanted to give amnesty to Illegal aliens and he began throwing our money down a rat hole with these moronic bailouts!

However I thought booing him was bad form. He was our President. You wouldn't see me booing Clinton or Carter, especially on a day where we celebrate the peaceful transition of power from one leader to another and the high position that is changing hands.

Just my take. I am sure I'm off base and out of line somewhere.

I'm of two minds on this. I did laugh when I heard them singing goodbye to Bush, but almost immediately I reconsidered and thought it bad form, mostly because I believe he isn't an evil person, he's just really bad at his job.......but then thought again, considering the crap he's put us through, we can at least jeer at him a bit? Eh, I dunno.

Capt Jack 01-21-2009 09:11 AM

trust me, theres still plenty of mileage left in ol Georgie-poo for comedy

Not your imagination, we heard it too.

innerSpaceman 01-21-2009 10:54 AM

Yeah, bad form perhaps. But for men of pure evil who did such great harm to humanity, I'm glad the parting shot for Bush was an old shoe to the head and a razzing song from the people. And Cheney making his final V.P. appearance hobbled in a wheelchair, revealed as Dr. Strangelove is also quite fitting.

If that's the worst fate has in store for these two, they got off very easy.

I'm hoping there's worse to come, but in truth it will likely have to wait for the fires of hell.

I personally don't believe in hell.

But I'll make an exception for those two.
