Party at DL
 

We'll be in the hizzouse March 18-21st if anyone wants to hook up with the kids and I for a meat. It'll just be me, Indi, and Jade and my 13 year old niece Hannah (who is hella cool). I've got a new cell if anyone needs it. We're pretty early to bed people these days, but a night meat can be arranged if necessary.

I've been told that I scare peoples kids.

And many adults! ;)

Are those all weekdays? If so, a night meet would the only thing workable for me ... and I'd love to see you guys!

I think one of those is a Friday. Night meets are ok. We can either take an afternoon nap, or get started later in the morning, or it can be an eating/drinking meet with kidlets asleep in the stroller.

On second look, there is a Saturday in there as well.

We've got Disney-incompatible out-of-town company that weekend (the Rat's paternal unit), but if they decide to wander off for an all-day hike fest I might head toward the park.

Well then I suggest that you line their shoes up at the door with a map to LA's best scenery inside them. ;)

Speaking of not liking DL. That is why Zack isn't coming! The horrors.

No it's cool, really. I'm not going to cry myself to sleep right this instant that the LoT apparently doesn't love me. I'll be there in four days. Perhaps I'll see one of you then. No really, I'm ok. I'll be back to DL next year probably. Maybe my meet size will increase to two.

(Oh, also, I won't be in DL on Saturday. Tue - Fri. Zack will be with me on both Thursday and Friday!)

I can't speak for others, but perhaps most people work in the daytime on weekdays.

Disneyland is open late (woo hoo!) until 11 p.m. on weekdays starting the week of your visit, so there's a chance I might head over to DL or DCA after work in the late afternoon or evening that week. If so, I would welcome meeting you and your family.

And while you're there, make a visit to the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar at the Golden Vine Winery area of Disney's California Adventure to see a preview of plans for DCA in the next few years. :)

Ok, so we will be there late on Friday eve if anyone wants to come down. I'm also open to drinking in DTD with those that might not have passes.

We can do dinner Thursday evening, if that's of interest. I have cleaning duty Friday and work during the day Thursday, but we could head over after work.....

When's the bigger question! I get off at 5:30 and will head straight there, but I'm coming from El Segundo, so it could take awhile. We could eat pretty much wherever, in or out of the park. Want us to give you a call when we're almost there? (Would need cell number....)

I will plan to meet up on Thursday evening, March 19, as well.

Awesome! We plan on coming back to the hotel in the afternoon to take a nap so the little ones can stay up later. We'll be back at the park by sixish. Pru, do you have an approximation of when you'll be at the park? I'll probably feed the kidlets earlier than you get there, but I will eat with you. I'll pm you my cell, and DisneyDaniel, I'll text you, or you can call me. Reception is sometimes tricky in parts of the park, but I check my phone fairly regularly, so if I miss either of you I'll call back.

Sorry I missed you today. I'll try to get up there tomorrow or Friday.

I'm leaving El Segundo sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 (probably closer to the latter) so I have no idea when I'll get there. Thursday evening traffic can be pretty sh!tty.

For those of you that don't have AP status right now (or would just rather meet later at night over drinks), we can meet Saturday night at the bar at my hotel (Sheraton Garden Grove). The kids are asleep by eight and I can leave them in the room with my niece.

Pru, lab rat, and DisneyDaniel, thanks for coming out! It was lovely to see you guys! I wish it could have been a much longer meet, but the kids were just done.

I think this is going to be our last DL trip for quite some time (like four-ish years) as Jade really doesn't enjoy very much of DL. She's much more reserved than Indi and the noise and crowds are a bit much for her. She will only go on a few rides, so I figure for the next several years we will hang out at the beach and whatnot for vacation. Hopefully I will be able to make it out solo at some point in the not too distant future to party with my LoT pals.

Right on. We've got fastpasses from yesterday that we need to use.

Speaking of fastpasses...Indi and Hannah tried to use a 5pm-6pm fastpass at 7pm and they were turned away! I've never had a fastpass turned down because it was expired before. Lame.

This will be a disappointment. The "Un-official Guide To Disneyland" (2009 edition) categorically states that you CAN use the passes after their window, and goes so far as to say you used not to be able to do this.

Bum. :( We planned to get Fastpasses, go rest in the hotel, then use them in the evening.

That should not happen. Especially since we went 101 earlier in the day and I told scores of people that they could come back later because FP ended up backed up.

HOWEVER

You can't use one from the previous day.

It was on Space. It was probably someone new, and/or an a$$hole. I have also successfully used one from the previous day in the past. I'm sure they aren't supposed to let you, but they do anyways at times.

We, however, had no trouble using them after fireworks. So, thanks! It was great to see you again and to meet Disney Daniel.
