Any Northwest Swankers?

Hmmm, that title does not sound quite right.

Anyway, what I am wondering is if there are any Lounge of Tomorrow members located in WA, OR, ID, or south BC? Some of the other NW Disney groups want to meet up and if there are any LoT members up here, I want to be sure to invite them once we get more details together. Just post here and I will keep you in mind.

ozron 03-02-2009 06:28 PM

There are a bunch of us, and as often as we've talked about a northwest swanking, we've never gotten together.

scaeagles 03-02-2009 06:32 PM

That's because WB lives there. No one wants to meet with WB. She's scary.

Don't project yourself on to her. WB is awesome!!!!!!! And so is her kid!

Deebs 03-02-2009 07:08 PM

MB, ply everyone with your homemade delights and I'm sure there will be many more meets. You are a baker of some renown!

bewitched 03-02-2009 07:36 PM

Let me know when there's a Midwest LoT meet. :l

(Is there even anyone else from the Midwest on this board? )

Melonballer 03-02-2009 10:59 PM

Glad to see there are some of us. I will keep everyone in mind. We do have Micechat meets up here every few months. Next one will likely be for "UP". I will keep you all informed. Like I said there is also a major Disney meet in the early planning stages. This could be a very Disney summer up here.

We're in Spokane, MB, and we have several other Eastern Wa/Northern Idaho members here as well.

lashbear 03-03-2009 05:04 AM

cirquelover 03-03-2009 10:53 AM

I'm 90 miles south of Portland. I didn't know Pirate Bill lived up here too, cool. I know there are more of us in the NW, I'm sure they'll check in too!

Susan will be in Portland sometime in March, though I don't remember when.

Prudence 03-03-2009 01:30 PM

I'm only temporarily in LA - home is Redmond, WA. Dunno when I'll be there next, though.

sleepyjeff 03-03-2009 04:01 PM

I am from Portland, Oregon((Home of the NW's one and only NBA franchise;) )

One of these days I'll make a meet MB.....it's just that I work 6 days a week so it's tough to find the time.

In the meantime, keep the pm invites coming over on that other board:)

I'm not that far north. I was just briefly in Seattle last year for work. I'm a Californian, which is why I've only heard about your baked delicacies and haven't actually sampled them!

Ok. That makes sense. I was wondering how you new about them.
List corrected. Be sure to visit sometime when everyone is getting together and have some baked goods.

Yoo Hoo !!

SO:

The Lashpair will be in Portland Airport on a layover 11th April from 9:10am to 11:00am. Who can meet us for brunch?

I know Cirquelover should be able to, but are any others in the list close? (I didn't even study USA Geography at school, sorry...) We'd love to spend a few quality hours getting to know you all better (and letting you all laugh at our accents).

Wendybeth, you're excused ;)

ozron 03-09-2009 12:04 AM

DAMN! Just about any other Saturday and I would be able to join you. April 11 is Rabbit Romp - our biggest single day event of the year. I'll be at the zoo all day.

Melonballer 03-09-2009 12:48 AM

Any chance you are going to be in the Seattle area?

lashbear 03-09-2009 03:46 AM

Yes,

We'll be arriving in Seattle Airport 12:40 and departing 3:50pm on Thurs 9th April.

Enough time for Luncheon and/or a quick trip up the worlds fair needle thingy?

Actually, with the needle being 12 1/2 miles away from the airport, I don't think so !!

Invitations for luncheon at the Airport are still open !! :D

Hey, I'd love to meet you guys and have a drink or two! I'm directly across the river, about five minutes away from PDX, so it'd be no sweat!

lashbear 03-09-2009 05:12 AM

Woo Hoo !

We shall synchronise Cellphone numbers via PM. :D

Pirate Bill 03-09-2009 08:34 AM

Sounds like fun! PM me your flight details and I'll make an effort to be there too. I'm about 30 minutes from the airport.

If the wind is blowing from the West your plane will fly right over my house about 50 seconds before landing.............I normally work Saturdays but maybe I'll take the morning off to meet the bear from down under.

PM me for my cell #.

Less than two hours is a relatively short layover. Any meetings should be inside the terminal.

Good point.

PDX is a relatively small airport so it's a short walk in and out of the terminal, but if we don't have boarding passes we can't get through security, and the Lashpair would risk a late boarding if they have to go back through security. And if PDX is their first stop in the US and A then they'll be delayed at customs. Hmmmm...

lashbear 03-09-2009 03:08 PM

Not the first stop, so that's OK.

We have security getting-through down to a fine art now, however we still agree that Bruncheon should be at one of the fine dining establishments (yeah, right) in the Airport.

Don't forget, it's the USA ans everything seems wonderous to us Aussies. It's all good !!

I don't think they'd let you through security with weaponized food.

Melonballer 03-21-2009 05:51 PM

Hey folks,

I have teased about this for awhile now and now the website for the event is active. Here is a link.

Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet

We are talking about an Annual Disney Convention. I will start a thread in the meets lounge once the date is official. The site is small right now, more a teaser. So bookmark it when you can.

The plan is to have guest speakers, pin trading, Disneyana Sales, activities for the kids and more. So spread the word. The more people, the better the event will be.

This is not solely a Lounge of Tomorrow event, but an event to bring all the NW Disney fans together, no matter what website they visit. With any luck I will be able to meet my fellow NW swankers.

Melonballer 03-23-2009 01:10 AM

The date for the convention is set as August 15th. Mark your calendars swankers!

ozron 03-23-2009 07:49 AM

Okay, a date is a good start.

How about a location?

I'll be in the middle of the run of Evita, so if it's not close to PDX, I'm out.

It is in LYnnwood, WA Just North of Seattle.

ozron 03-23-2009 04:22 PM

yeah....that's not going to work...

Prudence 03-23-2009 04:26 PM

Sure, hold a snohomish county meet AFTER I leave. No, I'm sure it was coincidence. I'm not offended. I'll just be over here, in the corner, minding my own business, trying to be happy for you all.

*sniff*

Yep. Unfortunately, it is not looking good for a Swanker contingent. I will have to see if I can set something up before the PNWMM.
